Install and remove Crank gear, SBC This was very easy with the gear puller and also the right size socket and some grease to install the new crank Timing gear
Good video, But I have to say I put one in an oven set to 300 degrees for 15 minutes and took my grilling mitt and that gear slipped on like butter without any tools.
The worst thing to pulling this gear on an 83 k10 is reaching it. From bottom or top. I don't remember this being so difficult in 1980 when I was 16. I was much more limber and flexible....codeword for I got too fat!
You're right, when you said they're "tight". That's an understatement. I think the double row gear on my 350 is about .030 tight, cause my puller, and electric impact won't budge it. Even put some oxy/acet. on it and still no go.
How do I prevent the crank from turning as I'm using the puller? I have my dots lined up but the more torque I put on turning the puller, it starts to turn the entire crankshaft.
