I finished installing my Vintage MKII in my 2017 Les Paul tonight. It sounds better than it ever has. It was originally a Trad Pro IV and I hated the pickups and the complex wiring setup. I bought Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates and had them installed at a local guitar shop and I hated the way they wired it; could not use the volume controls or mix them the way I wanted. Ripped it all out and the Obsidian sounds rich and full, amazing, this is the sound I've been looking for since I bought the guitar. The sound is clean and full. Highly recommend! But, they are right: easy, not instant.

This 'Landon Bailey' demo is handy, just bought a Les Paul that needs this. If Gibson can do PCBs stock from factory so can we, and banish annoying solder. I have the 2012 dual blade mini humbuckers they're really hot, will this be good enough? What about the "fat tap".

Great upgrade I like the modes .does it have differnt capacitors for each mode?

Thanks! The key difference is the treble bleed - this is active only in the 60s mode and allows for greater clarity at low volumes.

Hey guys can I use this kit in my epiphone Les Paul standard pro it's got coil splitting feature I'm not a fan of it just want to run it back to original Les Paul style specs?

Hi There, Yes you can. Just double check the pot size. You may need larger US spec 24 spline knobs, and to ream out the holes for the higher grade electronics 🙂

Does this harness work with a three pickup guitar? Does the toggle switch work with that? Is there space to connect all 3 pickups?

Hey There, these are built for two pickup LPs. We do not have anything for three pickups LPs at this stage.

I have bought the obsidian Les Paul push pull and fitted a pair of iron gear blues engine pickups and it works sort of, when using crunch/distortion it's ok but when I go to clean on my amp the sounds jumps down to I can hardly hear it and have to put volume stupid high on amp to hear it then I have to lower amp the amp when selecting distortion again or I'll blow my ears out, I live in UK and ordered the obsidian from USA so unable to send back if it's an issue with the unit, any ideas on how to remedy this please , my pick up wires are red, white, green, and two black if that helps

Hi David, Flick us a message at service@obsidianwire.com The harness output will be the same regardless of what your amp is set to, so it could also be an issue with the amp.

Hi Norman, if you take a look at our website there is a hole-spacing diagram you can print to scale and check the fit on your guitar. There are so many slight variations between LP models that we always recommend doing this. POS product- total scam. If it's not soldered it's not gig-worthy. Tried two of these in a row and followed the instructions exactly... sound cut out completely in the middle of TWO GIGS IN A ROW! Plain & simple solder-less connections cannot stand up to the rigors of regular playing. Save your money and get real (aka soldered) electronics.
