This video is an install and review of the Spyder LED Halo headlights with a projector for the
2009-2014 F150.
The headlights look great, and look best at night. The halo ring comes on with the parking lamps, but not when the parking lights come on with DRL. I will have to play around with the DRL settings in ForScan to see if I can get them to act as DRL.
The projector takes an H11 halogen bulb, and one is included. You CANNOT install an HID bulb without modification to the housing

I have these in mine, only in the chrome trim. Spyder puts crap for bulbs in it, but when I changed them to Silver Star bulbs, the projector beam was way better than the stock lights.

My truck still has the regular reflectors and I just installed the sylvania ZXE on mine, light is better but still not good, do you think that I should get this reflectors for my F150?

What size bulb did u use your are the stock bulbs that came with these are terrible can u maybe post a link for the bulb been looking for a led blue beam to fit dont have any idea what to buy

I have these and installed 5000k HIDs, looks a lot cleaner. It says on packaging to not use HIDs in the housing but I called Spyder and they said it would be fine. Had it for over a year still working fine.

Theo Hardmon I forgot what bulb size they were but if you ever installed HIDs before it’s the same concept. I believe they were h7(don’t quote me). I just went to a HID store in town installed them in like 30 minutes.

Oh and yeah idk if you kept the stock bulbs from spyder. They’re trash I couldn’t see anything at night. And also adjust your headlights so the beam is correct. My truck has a lift so I had to adjust accordingly

And I also remember the cutting into the rubber cover in order to fit the ballast wires into the head unit. I sealed it back up with electrical tape.(probably not the best) but I was being lazy lol.

I've been trying to find out what bulb is in the aftermarket projector. Their website says H7 but that doesn't make any sense because h7 is designed as a single filament bulb and the f150 requires a double filament bulb. Is it the projector itself that adjust the brightness of the light?

William Carione i have mines for 3 months. Looks nice but you lost some visibility if you have hid’s. Nothing compares to stocks. If you have halogens lights then its an upgrade.

Nice looking truck. I ordered these and the anzo tail lights from Amazon (In chrome, cause my truck is silver). My question is...Is the lighting from the headlights sufficient? I like the look of these, but after doing alot of reading, I'm concerned about the H7 halogen bulb not putting out enough light. Can I do an HID/LED conversion with this projector/housing??? Would upgrading to a "whiter" halogen help? If so, great. But Im really not too privy on putting my headlights in the oven to swap projectors! Just trying to get my information in order so I will have a plan when these arrive. Thanks.

Looking for the same. Only way I know is get a relay and wire it to turn on with drl. Just need power source to relay to be from a wire with power when the key is turned on.

So leveled or suspension lift? 33's or 34's or larger?...nice setup 👍🏽👍🏽 super clean with a bit of an aggressive stance.. I've got the same truck and I'm looking to achieve that same kind of look here in the next couple of weeks so any information would be very helpful.. thanks for the video.

Hi Trey, did you buy these lights from Amazon? Did they come with the light bulbs? I bought a set and the light bulbs were not included. I thought it was just plug and go but I am missing the light bulbs.

Does it have a difference over stock headlights in terms of visibility at night? I drove on a pitch dark highway a few days ago and couldn't see squat on the original halogens. Was thinking to upgrade? I have a 2012 raptor svt

I got a question for you Trey. I have a 2012 f150 lariat. It's a Canadian truck so the drl is the low beam with fluctuating voltage due to weather. It goes from 6 to 8 to 10 depending on sunlight before it kicks in the 12 for night mode. Many guys have problems changing bulbs because of the drl fluctuating all the time and burn out hid and led kits without resistors. So my question is, do these headlights actually transfer the drl to the halo internally, or are they only useful for U.S models?

trulydvs I know this is an old post, but I’m looking at lights similar to these and wanted to scroll through to see if there was any other input on them.... in regards to your post, my truck is also a Canadian version. I was able to turn off my drl function with the program called FORSCAN, super easy to do. You can also change the DRL function to be your fog lights, and lots of other cool features. It’s also FREE! I plan to run the led on this setup with my fog lights. If you see this post, hope it helps!

Hey do you know why these lights won't work with a truck that has factory equipped HIDs? I have the 2014 f150 FX4 super crew with the short box. The headlights are nice but I love these ones more and would like to know why they won't work. Thanks. Truck looks great BTW!

Yes but the headlight bulbs weren't great. I recommend upgrading them at some point.

are you sure they aren't h7 bulbs? I was looking at these at stage 3 and it said they replace the cords stock h13 bulbs with h7... was considering upgrading the h7 bulbs in the spider housing to LED.

Have you had any issues with hyperblinking? I installed mine and after a day my left blinker is going nuts.

This should only be caused if you installed an led turn signal bulb or if your light is blown. The DRL on these are tied into the running light 12V source.

Bruno Rosales get some led lights they are bright as heck but get the Morimoto brand they are worth the money highly recommended

I have heard a lot of reports of that. I haven't experienced it. However, they aren't designed as a sealed unit. All headlights (including Ford) are designed to vent atmosphere air which can cause condensation sometimes. Accumulated water is the real concern

Truck Stuff yeah I read that some had like an inch of water within a couple weeks. I like how they look but idk how I feel about the risk of them getting water in them
