Install Shopify Theme Kit | Shopify Learning 

Prerequisites:
Ensure you have Shopify partner or admin access.
Have a code editor (e.g., Visual Studio Code) installed.
Install Git on your computer if not already installed. You can download it from Git's official website.
Open a Terminal or Command Prompt:
On Windows, open Command Prompt.
On macOS and Linux, open Terminal.
Install Theme Kit:
You can use the Shopify Theme Kit installer, which is available on various platforms. To install via the installer, visit Theme Kit's official GitHub repository and follow the installation instructions specific to your operating system.
Alternatively, you can use Homebrew on macOS or Linux to install Theme Kit. Run the following command in your Terminal:
brew tap shopify/shopify
brew install themekit
Verify the Installation:
After installation, you can verify that Theme Kit was installed successfully by running the following command in your Terminal or Command Prompt:
theme version
This command should display the version of Theme Kit you've installed.
Configuration:
You need to set up a configuration file to connect Theme Kit to your Shopify store. You can use the theme configure command to do this. Replace your-api-password and your-store.myshopify.com with your actual Shopify store credentials:
theme configure --password=your-api-password --store=your-store.myshopify.com
Follow the prompts to generate a config.yml file in your working directory. This file will store your credentials securely.
Start Using Theme Kit:
You can now use Theme Kit to work with your Shopify themes. For example, you can use commands like theme pull to download your theme files, theme watch to start watching for local changes, and theme deploy to upload your changes to Shopify.
Remember to follow Shopify's best practices and guidelines when working with themes, and always backup your theme files before making significant changes. Shopify Theme Kit is a powerful tool, but it's essential to be cautious when modifying your store's theme.
