Looking at a recon right now. I am not so interested in the red accents i.e. red seat belts or hood sticker but the updated and beefier front d44 axle, front bumper and hood are very interesting.

Was just wondering that, im looking at my bumper and looks nothing like that. But my fairlead holes dont match

Do you maybe need a fairlead filler plate?

I’ve got a recon too and I can NOT get that winch plate between those frame rails. How are y’all doing it? I did not remove the factory vacuum bracket... I’ve greased it, 2lb rubber mallet. Nothing...

If your camera has bluetooth capability, try getting a wireless mic connected that way. Awesome video. A pleasure to watch.

Rubicon Unlimited You should consider the Rode Video Mic Pro +. It’s an amazing mic that plugs into the mic input of your camera, and turns on and off when you turn your camera on and off. I’m using it now, and it’s absolutely fantastic. I’m also now using the Zoom H6 Field Rrcorder. You can record up to 6 channels seperately at the same time with it. It accepts standard XLR input, as well as 1/4 inch input (like an electric guitar). Excellent choice for an off camera audio recorder.

+OC Run nope just some black rustoleum. In this case it was covered up by the fairlead bracket and wouldn't be in sight, so I wasnt worried! I'll let you know if I ever test out others.

I installed the same winch and plate on my 75th anniversary unlimited Jeep. I had to cut the vacuum pump bracket to make room for the width of the plate. Bulldog may have changed the dimensions since your video. Their instructions tell you to remove the vacuum pump bracket for clearance, but I was able to keep enough of the bracket and mounted the vacuum pump on the modified bracket. Great video!

It was definitely a tight fit that needed a bit of persuasion. I'm guessing that the paint on these plates is adding a bit of variation to everyone's experience.

Another trick is to trim off the clips at the bottom of the grill, just the few at are behind the solenoid. That way it will slide right out after you unclip the others

Just so you know, you have the best winch to 10A bumper installation video out there, still to this day.... I can reach it fine from top but space is to tight to fit ratchet and socket in the space, extension would be worse. (Wish I could post pics) if I happen to get it squoze ( it’s a Jen word :)) in there I have no way to move / wrench on it ....I may have to stop at a mechanic shop and ask them, maybe I need a special wrench to reach it, idk.... thank you again !

No problem at all, thanks for the kind words! Figured since I was doing the install, it wouldn't hurt to film. I tend to look for these things before an install and couldnt find anything, glad it's helping others with the same project! It's been a while since I did the install so I can't fully remember what tool I used in this instance, but maybe a swivel could do the trick. Let me know what works!

Everything is still great! No issues after all these years

Wanted to center the winch in this case. Arguably doesn't ruin the bumper because the opening is covered by the fairlead. Plus, you can always put the cap back on if you dont want a winch anymore

It's been awesome, tons of people run them without any issue 👍

Hey, I didn't need to cut anything to do this, but I did help the plate in with a rubber mallet. Sometimes the powder coat can make things a bit tight, but it should fit! Let me know how things pan out, good luck!

Rubicon Unlimited , bit I had to cut that factory bracket, I guess the person or robot that welded that plate on my Jeep was mad at the time. It was the only way mine would fit. If I could share pictures here I would show you. Your video is very good by the way.
