I installed a Super-Vee Blade Runner bridge with Babicz saddles on my strat. I have done allot of set ups on various types of bridges with various types of saddles. As far as i'm concerned, these are the best saddles i've ever come accross. I was able to set both the action and intonation in less than 10 minutes. and what was even more impressive than that was the incredible increase in tone quality and sustain. The quality of materials and production is excellent as well. No I'm not Mr. Babicz's brother-in-law..lol...I'm just an average guy who loves playing guitar and passing on what my experience is with this product.

Some quick comments - I installed it on my MIM Standard Plus Top a couple of days ago. I wrote to Babicz asking about the block and they confirmed zinc - will definitely be upgrading that bit. The tremolo has surprised me, a lot, in good ways. The clarity is enhanced especially in high ranges, crisper and brighter would be good words for it. I already had great sustain with the Wilkinson I switched out (steel block) - interestingly the Babicz holds its own even with zinc block, can't wait to switch out for brass or aluminum and see what happens :) I think the fact of the string laying more cleanly across the lip of the cam has some effect on the way the string vibrates, really am not sure why but I was able to lower the action further without buzzing. I have mine set to float with 3 springs, really smooth action, am not a huge dive bomber with lots of trem acrobatics, but i did experiment to see how well it stays in tune and it does as well as any trem I ever used and better than most. So I like it., a lot - with an upgraded bock I am sure I will love it :)

The advantage is mostly within the eCAM saddle design. Eliminating gaps under the string...and single screw string height adjustments with a locking feature. Rounded saddle housing tops add comfort on the playing hand and the side locking set screw gang clamps all six saddles together which offers improved side-to-side saddle stability. All this adds up to improved note clarity.

I wanted to try out this bridge on my American Strat, and the whole guitar vibrates ALOT more than before. I am not sure if that adds any more tone to it,but it "feels" better to me. It's a great bridge,give it a try.

I really like the way the intonation sets with lock and the string height adjustment sets and locks. Wish I would have seen this video before I bought my new fender two point bridge last week. I’m definitely trying this one on my next strat.

You are correct. The entire FCH line is mostly for the aftermarket...as an upgrade to existing guitar brands, such as Fender. Installation for a new guitar build is for another video.

I bought a sweet MIJ Strat with a Babics Narrow Z series Bridge .. Its so bad ass! I dive bomb it almost like a floyd rose and it pops up in tume every time .. I know I probably shouldn't do that but it is one good bridge. It also feel good under you palm its really smooth.

When intonated properly, the strat trem side locking screw is positioned such that it will only make contact, and clamp the sixth string saddle housing, never compromising the eCAM rotation. Also the eCAM width is .025" less than the total width of the saddle housing so the cams can never get clamped together in any way.

@celticlofts Just remove the 4 middle screws. The 2 outside ones are enough to hold the bridge in place.

Depending on how tight you adjust your springs, it may leave a mark. Usually more denting would happen when a trem is set up as a floater - when the tremolo arm is pulled up aggressively and the back edge of the trem makes contact with the body. All these are prone to happen with any Fender style tremolo.

I agree. If you had the etching/trademark somewhere smaller, less intrusive, you would probably get more sales. It's a beautiful bridge, but if you made your trademark smaller/tactful like Kahler/Floyd. It kills the personalization.

I'll go along with that procedure. I agree that will work too and may produce a more accurate intonated string in the "balanced", center postion.

In all fairness to all involved, this tremolo is made as a retrofit for a Fender Stratocaster. Your measurements and drilling would be that of a, if I'm not mistaken, a Fender American Standard 2 point bridge.

The current 6 screw mount FCH strat trem is mostly for Squire or Mex strats as a drop in, however it can be adapted to 6 hole mount AM strats too.

Sorry no 7 string full trem, but we do sell individual strat saddles. Look for the FCH Strat Saddle Kit on the FCH website. Yes they adapt very well to a guitar equipped w a Fender type of tremolo.

2 or three pick...it all depends on how much you want to pull up on the arm. If you want to pull higher then add more picks. You many want to add more, or stiffer springs if your claw has no adjustment.

You can mount the FCH Strat Trem as a fixed bridge. You just need to remove the lower string block and you can mount the upper portion of the bridge to a non tremolo flush mount guitar.

Wider range for tremolo. I am so against people who like big fat ass blocks they leave no room for diving and the tonal improvement is just placebo. Guitarist should have paid attention in physics class.

The "notched" block allows for deeper dive bombing. Floyd Upgrades sells our FCH solid string block if one wishes.

sometimes the back edge of the body cavity can have excess paint build up...reducing the rectangular hole size. This is where the sustain block passes through the body from the top. Usually this can be cleaned up with a file or course sandpaper on a thin sanding block.

The side locking screw keeps the saddles from moving side to side when the strings are strummed. This is a benefit over a traditional Fender type bridge where the saddle have no means of being fixed. Of course this is optional and one does not need to use this screw.

Since some of the e-cam saddles are of aluminium I think they're slightly more prone to deform if you're using the side screw to "squeeze" them.Over time that is, you don't work on these that often. However, if you're using the Stainless Steel variant I think they will last a lot longer.

Exactly. I don't know why more players don't mention this. I can only assume their technique doesn't require resting their palm on the bridge. Anyway, I'm with you man. Don't know why Fender can't resolve that.

Hey Mike , Me too !! , I hatted that about my Strat , the bridge is amazing , really to bad there is zero support. I had a question , but in the end worked it our myself , so that was cool !! I was going to change the trem-block for my original De-Lux 'Pop-In' , but at trying the screw in one last time , I liked it better , on mine it tightens up just at the right spot and the pop-in arm was way to sloppy to really use right. TIP !! , this helped me a ton. I was losing way to much skin off my knuckles on the screws for the 5 way , so I went to my local hardware store and picked up some stainless steel #6 Button Hex Head screws , I wish that would have been my first mod. You guys reading this , be like Nike , Just -Do-It , you`ll be surprised at how much better the Strat will look and feel. Now go make some noise !! , Later , Dreamer 

@@michaelmendillo4614 Anytime , I understand not wanting to mess with a Strat ! When I bought my Amer. De Lux I was not sure either , but I started with the pickguard and trem plate ( aged MOP ) , then as I played it more & more , that whole S1 thing was bugging me , so I now have the original N3`s with a blender / volume kit / no treb bleed off -- the Babicz bridge really made the huge difference I was looking for and no more screeching !! , just smooth !! I had read about the added sustain , but I thought '' no way '' could it ever be that changing , but ... it was and more. The bridge not only looks cool , but adds so much to the 'lasting note' and the hammer ons == improved !! , have a super weekend , take care , Dreamer 

I just installed it on one of my strats yesterday...I like it...setup is easy (action, intonation) and it sounds very good...the only thing I don`t like is the overall feel for the right hand...because the saddles are quite chubby and it feels a bit unnatural at first..I guess it needs some time to get used to it

Install was super easy. Dropped in easily. The springs are high-tension. Definitely back off screws to the clip before you try to stretch them highly recommended

thomas lowrey awesome thanks for getting back to me. I'm going to get one soon and give it a try. I put graph tech string savers on there right after I got it. The vintage ones in my opinion didn't hold them in place good enough with the neck being so thin. The low e string was slipping off the neck when I would go to grab it..the graph tech keep them in place but I want to modify it more to my liking. Thanks again happy jamming!

The Full Contact Hardware Tune O Matic bridge will work the same as any traditional TOM bride....even with a Bigsby...

I like it, but isn't that block to thin? I mean the all point of the full contact system is to give the guitar more stability and natural sustain, but everybody is telling us that how important it is to have nice chunky brass blocks. So what's the point having a full contact system if it has a thin block like cheap guitars have? Can you please explain. Thank you

OK, I question here instead, and break it up in parts. It seems to me that the small screw at the side is unnecessary to keep the saddles from moving. Aren't they hold steady by the intonation screws at the back? I knew that such "side lock" was to be used on Steinberger bridges and saddles, since they were not held by antyhing. And you had to move them by hand. If one can skip the side screw to squeeze them all together, I am all game.

I'm very interested in this. It maybe could bring an old Strat I've long since given up on to life. It was always a dead sounding guitar and I've changed everything on it except the bridge trying to make it open up. I even removed the finish and stained it -which helped tremendously- but didn't cure it completely. My "problem" is that all the Babicz parts I've seen have writing on them and that is just a major turnoff to me.

I'll probably set my tremolo up to only dive bomb, but when the tremolo rests on the body, does it not damage it? I'd imagine that over time it would create a small indentation similar to how a door stop slowly dents the surface of a door.

How the heck can you accurately set intonation when you put that trem plate under the bridge like that? think you got things out of order. Intonation should be last thing done, and without anything between the bridge and body. After you floated the bridge.

Does this tremolo outperform other quality brands, like wilkinson or fender? This babicz tremolo looks fantastic, but doesn't seem to offer any mechanical advantage that would justify the purchase. As they say in Brasil, it's like trading six for half a dozen.

Can it be used for heavy whammy bar action, and still stay in tune? That is the reason why people dont like the stock Fender ones, they dont stay in tune, after 60 years of making them..SO whats the deal and how much are they? How do they compare to the Super Vee..

Hi Jeff! I just got my FCH strat style bridge installed on my MIM strat. Everything is great! I am noting some rubbing when I bend the tremolo forward like the block is rubbing against the body in the cavity. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? Thanks and AWESOME PRODUCT!!

Hi, I found this on a Norwegian site, and want to install on my US Fender Strat, but they all say they only fit Squier and MIM Stratocasters.. I have a 2 point trem on my Fender.

How many plectrums did you use to lift the tremolo bridge before tuning? Another thing- My Ibanez came out standard, with the tremolo claw all the way against the guitar, ie. the claw screws are all the way into the body, leaving no room. Is this bad? Should I release the screws a bit before starting the adjustment?

Hi Jeff Is the trem available in a vintage wider spacing available in either a 2 post or vintage 6 hole mount? I can locate the narrower 2 1/16" string spacing models on line in the US but couldnt find the wider vintage string spaced version referred to at the end of the video . thanks for your time Craig

i have this but the five screw version. had it installed by a pro and it will not stay in tune, thats why i got it so i can actually use the trem on my strat imagine that as far as i know im doing what im supposed to do but still cant touch the trem. what am i missing?

How about some mass to that trem block! That's as thin as the old MIM strats in the 90's. Why not give them a full sized block?

At 10.32 you like to use the cover and tilt all of it forward a bit to be able to reach it with the screwdriver to adjust intonation? Sorry, I want to adjust intonation while it is flush, and in operating mode. If you do like you do at 10:32 you whack the whole tuning and action, and it sure wont intonate when you decide to remove the cover and set the trem back at level again. If the intonation screws can't be reached without raising the trem, its a no no for me. Sorry, a major gaffe IMHO.
