i would strongly recoment adding dielectric grease to any plug connection to avoid corosion from any moisture and debris... i do custom automotive lighting kits and i use the stuff religously, and never had any customers come back with problems. cheers
LEDGlow no problem buddy. check out the shop website. www.calgarycustomautoworks.com best deals around on wheels, tires, lights among other vehicle accessories.
pimpmaster181 just put my kit in today. How much of the grease do I put? And am I putting it on the metal connectors themselves or just the plastic parts. I never used this stuff before.
Just got these in for my Kodiak 700 and Honda 400ex, install looks pretty simple. I run a lot of deep water also and use liquid electrical tape. Never had a problem out of this stuff even when sealing up the center housing/lower unit on a trolling motor. The dielectric grease is a necessity to prevent down the road problems of corrosion also......
Cut your zip ties smooth to keep from getting a cut from them. Also use a Velcro strap tiep when putting all the wires together. Over tightening with zip ties can damage wires......WATERPROOF the controller.
If you need any help installing, we're available to answer any questions and guide you through the process as much as possible. Feel free to call us at 1.877.LED.GLOW
good kit. I have one on my 2013 800s rzr. works good but as they said @ 7:15 find a dry location. the kits are not water proof. I had to order a new control box for mine.
I do a lot of duck hunting and often have to drive and sometimes leave my four wheeler in water will it hurt the lights as long as the control box is out of the water?
Thanks for the interest in our product! The strips are completely waterproof, so it should not be an issue as long as the control box does not get wet.
It only shows about a foot of wire from the control box to the battery ? If that's the case on my sportsman 570 it would be in the right in the open getting pelted with everything as the battery is on the bottom of the frame 🤷♂️
Is there anyways to make the control box waterproof? Also what about a switch of some sort to mount by handle bar to have them turn on and off then control the light color with remove provided?
You can definitely add a switch to the power wire. Where you mount it is up to you. We do not recommend modifying the control box itself in any way. That will void your warranty.
Why does my kit that I recently installed on a 300ex, randomly will turn on dimly by itself even after I’ve turned the power off from remote?. Is there a short, or something not wired properly?.. I’ll probably have to install a toggle switch cause it has killed my battery multiple times already
The light strips themselves are waterproof however, the connectors and control box are not. Which is why we recommend mounting it somewhere that will not get wet.
The adhesion promoter can be purchased through our website or at any automotive parts store. We do not recommend installing on applications where the kit will be completely submerged in water.
We do not have a kit that can be completely submerged in water. The strips and control box of the Advanced Million Color are waterproof, however, the connectors are not.
Is there a rotation setting, where it will rotate through all the colors? Or do you have to switch them manually with the remote? What happens if you lose the remote, will they always come on, when you turn the switch on?
+John Eubanks Yes, the Advanced Million Color ATV Light Kit features 2 color cycle modes, 3 flashing modes and 1 fading mode as well as 15 different solid color modes that can be selected using the included wireless remote. If you happen to lose a remote, the 8, 10 and 12pc kits come with two so you'll be able to use the extra one included with the kit, but if you don't have any spare remotes, you will need a replacement to use the kit. If there's anything else that I can help with don't hesitate to ask!
raulvalenzuela34 Thanks for contacting us with your issue. I recommend contacting our Technical Support Dept at 877.LED.GLOW before you purchase a new control box just to see if we can get it back up and running for you. Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you here.
@LEDGlow will it work on a 2005 Honda TRX 450R it does not have a battery but I can install one for the lights and also I seen the $50 kit and wondering if that would work and does that still mean I would work it into my 450 wiring Harness?
As long as the battery supplies 12-volt power, then yes these will work. Please contact our customer support and they will be able to get you hooked up with whatever you need. 👍
Garrison Foulk Our LED lights have to be powered by a 12v battery in order to function. If your ATV has a kick start with no battery to connect the lights to then you will need to install a 12v battery if you want to use the LED lights. Let me know if I can help with anything else!
That music is awful, but what is worse is that little 'bwuop' sound each time a little window pops up. Totally maddening. Otherwise, than you for the explanation on how to install the lights.
Thank you for the interest in our product! These kits are universal so they will work with any type of vehicle that can supply them with 12 volts of power.
Does anyone know how to install the Million Color ATV Lighting Kit? Is it the same exact way as the video? Also, is there any way you can make the Control Box waterproof?
OneAnOnIy supposedly the box is water proof. Im getting a new xp 1000 tomorrow so ill be definetly doing this kit and ill do a video on how to make it water tight
i got a 2015 570 sportsman polaris the battery is on the chassis behind the front axles and could get wet does it matter and this is kinda hard-ish lol
+Malachi Latino It will matter when it comes to the control box of the kit. That is the only part that is not water resistant or waterproof, so it will need to put somewhere that can remain relatively dry.
outdoorsman1414 As long as the lighting strips and wires don't come into any contact with the moving parts of your ATV you're good to go. Our LED lighting strips are made from a flexible resin that closely resembles a rubberized material and will withstand contact from rocks, debris and are also waterproof.
E2 Riding The spade connectors used in this installation video are not included with the ATV lighting kit. If you want to use them for your installation, you will be able to find them at any local auto parts store. Let me know if you have any other questions!
It's a all terrain vehicle, now you have removed water out of the equation. The mounting is horrible to why would you put it on the bottom just to be ripped off.
+Ridge Coxwell The amount of strips is really a personal preference. However, I'd say around 10-14 strips would be ideal. Each kit comes with a control box, wireless remote, and power harnesses for the strips.
arnoni11 It all depends what parts of your 2014 Honda Foreman that you want to light up, but we see a lot of people installing about 8 LED strips to their ATVs. Let me know if I can help with anything else!
arnoni11 I would say your best bet would be either an 8pc or 10pc Kit for your 2014 Honda Foreman! If you have any other questions or concerns just ask!
+bradley bmx Unfortunately we do not perform installations at our headquarters, but if you can send over your city, state and zip code we can check to see if we have any LEDGlow installers in your area.
"Water damage will void the warranty." But on the website it states that the "waterproof control box will stand up to whatever punishment you throw at it." Ain't that some b.s......🤔👎
***** Thanks for the compliments! The ATV Light Kit featured in this video is a multi-color kit that allows you to select from 15 different solid colors, including red, as well as different lighting patterns that cycle through all of the featured colors. We also have single color kits available if you are looking for only red. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask!
LEDGlow ur welcome. :) o ok thanks for the info. :) i have 2 more Q to ask if u dont mind me asking, can u have the wireless remote & the Bluetooth Mobile Control runing the same lighting kit or do u have to pick 1 over the other on the ATV lighting kit. ? & what size lighting kit was used in this vid? i see theres a 6 8 10 & 12 piece on the website.
***** Unfortunately the Bluetooth Enabled Control Box is only featured with our Million Color SMD Underglow Kit for cars/ trucks, but the ATV Light Kits do feature a wireless remote to control all of the fits featured colors and light patterns.
As long as you properly clean the mounting locations for the light strips prior to installing them, then yes, you should have no issues with them falling off.
@@imagoodmann The led tubes and wiring are waterproof but the control box and connectors are not. Which is why we recommend placing the connectors and control box in the battery compartment to help prevent them from getting wet.
