You saved my bacon with this video, I had no idea each E46 had such differing configurations. I snapped a clip on the main harness which I've put firmly in the 'I'll deal with it later' bucket, but you have helped me connect my stereo - thank you!
Just want to say a MASSIVE thanks for this video! Just installed the Eonon unit with harness extension in my 330ci, and wouldn’t have know where to start if it weren’t for your valiant efforts! Cheers mate!
I have a 330ci convertible same exact model as yours and it was a pain finding a tutorial 😂I honestly don’t know how you figured it out so did you replace the unit bc ur speaker didn’t have sound? Because that’s the same reason I’m replacing my head unit
Mate thanks for the video. Gave me the confidence to buy one of these, just finished the install and the installation instructions were excellent. I got the r50 model but install was the same.
So after watching this, thankfully you have exactly the same issues as me (blue and white pins etc) so hoping this is exactly what I need, ordered after market eonon head unit but didn’t come with harness so had to order this, attempting this later this evening 😂
Well this was a very well-documented install video. Thanks for the upload as this seems to be the only clear and valuable resource on youtube. Thinking of doing the same, however.... I have a LHD vehicle. Am I running the wires in the same location? or would it be on MY passenger side (right)?
@@Qadi90 Figured it out. I ended up doing the install several weeks ago. It's actually easier since you follow the same path and run the harness under the steering wheel. No need to take off the glove box unless you want to run and conceal a USB cable there. Either way, this video is helpful for certain bits. P.S. There are differences between Coupe vs Convertible for the rear seats.
Nice vid thanks for this, looks like a nice swap over the oem Nat unit as I have the same and it’s just so dated now, I have the Bluetooth module in the boot that allows me to use my phone to the unit with music but it sounds like the sound quality is much improved with this new head unit with the HK speakers.
Amazing video however one question; I live in the United States and was wondering if I start from the rear left side of the trunk and I keep going my glove box is on the right(unlike yours that’s on the left) how can I wire it properly because you made it look very easy however that part is bugging me out just a bit
This video is a life saver, fitted the Eonon head unit and extension harness to the boot just need to tidy the boot wiring up now. I heard you at the end of the video that we would need a dab dongle to get a dab signal. Did you bother to get one? With sound did you have to mess about a lot with the settings as my HK speakers are a bit crackly now?
How can i change the Audio Output to a amp? I cant find this anymore🙈 ive installed an amplifier and i want to Change the Output Signal.. help me please
More questions as just about to hit the button on this set up, Also if your connecting a iPhone via Bluetooth to the head unit did you need to plug in the gps and wifi antenna’s and if so did you just put them behind the unit? And the usb cables are they for if you want to charge your phone? As could route that down into the Center console.
@@diym3541 so I shouldn’t need a separate dongle for apple car play on this unit to plug my phone in just the back usb cable that comes with the head unit?
Great video. I have 2001 e46 325Ci vert with oem sat nav, tv, 6 x CD and cassette. I have heard of some issues fitting what you fitted in video, that has rear projection like a single din in the upper space. Shop only wants to fit unit with shallow back, to avoid issues with adjusting either air flow, or coolant flow pipes. Any thoughts appreciated.
Fortunately with the eonon in the 2 weeks I've had it, I have found zero issues and have even driven across a few different counties and it picks up many across the board, highly recommended 👍
Hello I did all this work and after all of it I only getting sound out of one speaker.. I reconnected the cables and it still doesn’t work I don’t know what I did wrong any suggestions?
You will need the harness if you have factory navigation, once ypu remove the head unit from the dash take a look at the wires if they are blue and white you will need it, if they are the normal iso connectors you will be able to plug and play
Hello mate. Thanks for the video, I searched high and low for this as it seems the BM54 amp in the boot is not as common as I thought. Did you do a video on how to fit the reverse camera or know where one is ?
Donavan, I considered that and there are a couple of videos that show that installation. My issue with that approach is that you'll see the new cable on top of the carpet for the space between the bottom of the back seat and the center console. May not be a big deal and really only those riding in the back seat will see it (rare to have rear seat passengers in my car) but I would know it was there. I suspect DYI M3 wanted a cleaner installation as well.
@@bmwdiy6802 It's not visible whatsoever, there is cushion under the carpet between the floor board and the carpet. the wires basically gets indented into the cushion.
