On the rain soaked Saturday afternoon of July 18th a new milepost was achieved in the renovation of the Jean Mary paddlewheel boat when the new hydraulic wheel motors are now installed and testing has begun. This video is of the first run of the new twin Poclain hydraulic wheel motors which required 6 months to locate, design and fabricate the steel mounting mechanism, install new hydraulic lines and now start testing. As the brackets are completed sea trials will resume in our endeavor to achieve maximum hull speed of 10 knots. Sea trials are to begin next week and if all goes well we will proceed to a three day run up to the springs on the St. Johns River.
