Detailed installation video of R Design steering wheel on my Volvo V50. Part number : 30756213 Missing screw for the RTI cover is 999217 My original leather steering is available for purchase. (Will be removed once sold)
What a timting. Today I received the R-Design wheel to replace the old one on my C30 T5. I bought a used one, but it is in very good condition. Thanks for your great videos. Keep them coming.
The one thing that makes changing steering wheels difficult is if you make a mistake and it’s no longer centered properly. Volvo literally made sure you could never make this mistake lol I love it
Great video! Thanks for demystifying the inner workings of the Volvo steering wheel. 8:40 An interesting dilemma: In Canada, you go to the hardware store and all they sell is wood screws with Robertson heads. But being made in Sweden, the Volvo doesn't have any Robertson head screws...except the one you put in, as a little surprise for someone in the future! Ideally, you would use a plastic screw with a Philips head. That's why I take apart TV's and coffee makers I find in the alley: so I have a few plastic screws in my collection!
If im reading this correctly, the screw is not included..its a separate piece, part# 999217. A screw is a screw i wouldn't lose sleep over it.Im getting my order ready for my xmas gift to my car. That's a huge difference!great video. Stay safe brotha
Thank you for this awesome video I just installed this in my c30 2010 1.6 Diesel base model and bow have radio and volume controls and am aware I can have cruise control programmed in!!! Absolutely fantastic video ❤
I have run into an issue, though. I have an Anti skid service required' error. Reading some forums people are suggesting it could be a steering angle sensor. Have you ever come across this yourself? If so, any tips to clear it, or do I need to go to a dealer?
I fixed this by removing the steering wheel again and adjusting the clock spring setting. The setting instructions are written on it for anyone that may have this issue.
Professional video as always, I have also upgraded my steering wheel in my volvo xc90, but I have made a one step more, also speedo is from r-design model, I love that blue dials, I have also v70r model and basically in my opinion that blue metallic dials looks stunning, black ones are too boring.
I did the opposite way around, r design to normal wheel. The metal on the r design is horrible in the cold, its also alot less durable the leather can peel where it is tucked into the wheel. I may re-skin my r-design wheel at some point. Note to anyone that tries this, the modules for the buttons can be moved between wheels (of any p1 volvo) as can the wiring, it is really simple just be careful of the steering wheel sensor behind the wheel, its quite flimsy and will break your TC / stability control if damaged. Its not easy to catch but its possible to damage wires in there if you are careless. For some reason mine wanted re-calibrating in vida after a steering wheel change, still not sure why this was
On My R design steering wheel kit on my 2010XC60 with Navigation there is a knob on the REAR of the steering wheel (archaic I know) that cuts off the Navigation system on the o;lder generation NAV systems that were in use in 2009 & 2010 when the car model first came out. I upgraded my steering wheel too when I added the Posestar option to my vehicle . Hope this helps! WoodinVirginia
Hi, great video and really helpful, thanks. Have a couple of questions for you! What exactly does the screw do that you have to move from the bottom of the steering wheel to the top left area, at the start of the process? What does the small cover on the rear on the right of the wheel replace? I can’t make out what you say, sorry. Lastly, how old is your V50, what year? Trying to confirm the part number for the wheel will fit my 2009 C30! Thanks in anticipation fella 👍🍺👍
Dear Yuri, Greetings from France ! Thank you for your great vidéo that helped me change my standard steering wheel to a wooden one on my 2007 C70. I unfortunately forgot to block the clock spring (although you mentioned it !) and it of course moved... I have thé DSTC disabled... Do you know how I can solve this ? Thank you for your help !
Great video as always. I use a 2008 S40 and I have a question. I want to add a Bluetooth call answering function to my car. If I just replace the 'volume control device' on the right side of the steering wheel with one that has the Bluetooth features, will that work? Or there's more to it? Will be grateful if I could get a response 😊
Hi, I just bought my first v50 polar d2, unfortunately it’s second hand and it has no steering control for cruise control and radio, what I’m asking is, can I add it in a 2nd time if I can find it at the junkyard?
Hi mate, i forgot to remove the clock spring screw after the installation. When i turned the wheel it broke! Stupid me... My question is: is it gone be an issue? I have no problems right now however... Thanks for the video! Sorry for my bad english
Dear Sir, I got a Volvo S60 2.0T 2005, can you share the link where you order your volvo parts, so that I can check the parts availability with my old volvo car.
@@volvosweden I'm from Chile. Would you ship that far? And what is the price of the steering wheel and what would be the approximate price of shipping? Thank you
