Thank you!! Ordered the part through Toyota dealership for our 2015 Camry. The part was $39 plus tax (guy at the dealership threw in almost $10 discount, what a nice guy!). Mine was hard to snap in though. I had to have my wife hang on to the screw driver as you suggest while I pushed the torsion bar with with a medium wrench while on my back, half of my body was inside the trunk! Either way it snapped in, mission accomplished and saved some $$ that would have gone to the service department :)
Thanks for the video. When you install the bar, do you have the trunk fully Open or Close? I am fearing if I did it wrong, I might bust my new bars again. Your advise is appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Hi Jay. Sorry, do not know. I went directly to the Toyota parts desk in the dealership. Be sure to take the old one with you for the right and the left are different.
I learned pretty quickly those tension bars are crap. I think they just lack a bearing so overtime the bar is just cut into the bar a little bit at a time till it snaps. I replaced that 4 months ago. Now the latch on the trunk crapped out where it won’t close right even after trying to grease it to no effect it has to be replaced. What the freak Toyota? 16 Camry Hybrid should not be having these problems so quickly. 😮
heard a big BOOOOM while i was in my car. thought somebody hit my car. went outside and looked around. checked the car for damage. ???? nothing. weird. at home, trunk would not pop up. after watching this video, now i know why.
@@michael6malone been trying for half hour. can't get the square on the notch. i put the rod on the first notch, then torque up with the screwdriver, but it pops out before i can get it locked in.
The left, at least that is how I see it. The parts person may not see it as the left side, so I would take in the broken piece to ensure you are getting the right part. I do not remember if the packaging stated left or right.

Anybody have issues with the clip in the middle that holds both bars? I barely touched it and mine broke. Cheap plastic crap that’s probably a 50$ clip.
