We love how the Utile max shower kit comes together. Strong walls, and its very easy to instal. defiantly a DIY type of install.
The American Bath Factory has a very elegant Rich look but is by far more of a veteran job. just wait untit day 3

Does this only come in one width it looks like maybe 42 inches wide. It needs to come in at least 60 x 36 inches that should be the standard size.

Having issues getting the seams to line up properly, despite the pan being level. Not sure why

When you feel the wall can you feel the individual tiles or is it just smooth and just look like tiles?

It’s not individual tiles but it does feel like it.

Can you use the Utile shower walls with a tiled shower floor or do you have to use they shower pan

Does it leak over time ? My contractor told me it's not good because it has a lot of joints?. But I don't know if he just want me to do a more expensive job

I personally think this will last a very long time. Let’s say the shower does leak, the leak would be where your silicone joints are at (re-caulk). the water would still hit that plastic behind the shower walls and drip into the shower pan so I wouldn’t worry about it. As for the contractor I totally get him upselling, got mouthes to feed.

I would agree it will eventually leak not to mention if you green board the top and finish with mud the moisture will destroy the compound in less then a year .. pretty much a plastic base filled with styrofoam. I’m not really understanding the glue on the bottom of base considering the styrofoam that meets up to the floor base has separation .. not dogging on your guys work did a great job !!just feel this product is shit specially the base !!!

@@Seneca007 I here ya, however no matter what type of shower you install, you will always have to put green board above it because the shower doesn't go to the ceiling. And the glue below the shower pan is actually silicone and I prefer this method with self leveler than wet mortar like typical shower bases. I believe it will last a long time with good maintenance. Thanks for the comment tho, I love discussing this stuff!
