Installing 2020 Rear Bumper Garnishes on My Civic Type R!

Finally got the chance to throw on the 2020+ rear bumper garnishes for my 2019 Type R. I loved the way the updated CTR's refreshed bumpers looked so I had to get them for myself. The new rear bumper garnishes make the back end look so much more aggressive and I wasn't a big fan of the honeycomb/waffle style garnishes the car originally came with so I had to change them. Let me know what you guys think and if you plan on doing this to your CTR as well!

@@Eric-qx7fg nah you don’t need to remove them, just be careful with the two clips under there when removing that part of the bumper You can take them off if you want but then it’ll just be more to re-install

@@Eric-qx7fg no problem Yeah just pull slowly and they should come off, don’t pull it abruptly In the video, if you stop at 5:01, those are the two clips under the tail light im talking about

Bro, I want to ask you? Can you take photo underneath the rear bumper after remove the 5 clips. I’m going to install blind spot monitoring motors with sensor and I would like to see the space of underneath the bumper

So if you cut the bumper by the center. Once it fits does the clips on the side match with the bumper clip holes? or you have to glue it to the bumper? Also can you please please provide a direct link to the rear garnishes in L and R same color in championship white. pls!

Yup that’s right, the clips on the side match exactly with the bumper clip holes I had to get the parts from two different dealerships, you can check hondapartsguys to see if they have any, they’re the dealership out in Fontana california and the other dealership I went to was in Cerritos california No glue is needed

Is the rear parking sensor still work perfectly after this ?

The US models don’t have parking sensors so it didn’t have any effect on it

No need to order a new reflector, it’s the exact same size and should fit right on

Any way of doing it without cutting? Really don't want to do any destructive modifications but the new rear fascias look so good

Unfortunately, you have to cut it and there’s no way around it if you’re trying to stick with OEM pieces Yeah they do look way better!

@@Iamvictor_fk8 do you know what the OEM rear bumper looks like for the facelift models? Like is it identical but with cutouts or is it indented or what and is there any other changes??

@@samanson2001 idk what the rear bumper looks like for the 20’+ ctr models but I’d assume it’s a cutout bc the rear garnishes are much more thicker from the backside than the 17-19’ ctr models I don’t think it would be indented unless they have something back their for Honda sensing but otherwise it wouldn’t make sense to have an indent there
