Installing a 6V battery in a flashlight For Dummies

I’ve had this cheap torch I got from Bunnings, for over a year, and for the life of me, couldn’t even thread the lid on right because of those caps (mine had two). I had a feeling I should take them off but was worried they might be for protection and I’d zap myself!! Now we have a working torch thanks to you!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!! I was just about to contact the seller on Amazon to start a return. Ya know, here I was protecting the black cap on the spring on the battery EVERY TIME I handled the battery. Plus my prongs on the flashlight base had been flattened so no contact meant no exchange of current.

Thank you. I found many ways to do it wrong! Didn't help I waited to do it till the lights went out and I was using my phone and a candle to get it working. Thankfully the lights came on and I found your video.

Deborah; You're no dummy! You're great! The assumptions that manufacturers make that we are conversant with both their product and their methodologies mark them as the dummies, and you as our savior. A thousand kudos to you for your careful instruction, which I followed to the last frame with the same success, and a many thumbs down to Ray-O-Vac. Can you imagine the fix we'd all be in if they had guided our moon project? We'd all be sitting around scratching our heads, wondering where the fuel goes and where the astronauts sit. You are a blessing, and I'll look in from time to time.

Thank goodness for this video. The part inside the flashlight had fallen off the top and I didn't realize there was a little cap on the battery itself, so I was ready to take it back to the store and have them show me how to do it, 😂

had to get on you tube to search how to install battery on same product because i too kept putting it in and out but no lights! getting ready to take it back. No instructons in packaging!!! Haha didnt know there was a cover. Thanx much much!

Thanks for the video, I tried to line it up a certain way, nothing. When the cap was coming off, I screwed it back own in my haste to figure it out. But after finally screwing the cap on, there was a pea sized light coming from the center of the lantern. I assume the whole face would light up. My best idea to buy the lantern is turning out to be a waste of time & money.
