In today's video, I install an all-new audio system in the 240SX. As I worked through finishing the Interior Restoration Part 2 video, it was the perfect time to ditch old wires and worn out speakers for something that packed a greater punch. While the interior was taken out, I ran new wires front to rear, converted the old 4X6" speakers to 6.5" speakers, added a modern head unit and installed a powered subwoofer in the trunk. I wish everyone could hear it in person as the difference is incredible! DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional. This was my first time installing a system like this. I learned a lot and am super happy with the results! Enjoy the video!

@TheGmax35
@TheGmax35 6 лет назад
Very great, but you could fix the amp in the rear back of the back seat, right above the subwoofer, it would look a lot better and will have no problems with heat.... greetings from Brasil
@ForTehNguyen
@ForTehNguyen 6 лет назад
for anyone wanting to install an amp, a good tip for buying the amp wiring is to buy arc welding wire. The "audio" wiring is overpriced and not full copper in some cases, but the arc welding cable is full copper and a lot cheaper. Harbor freight had arc welding terminals you could use to terminate the ends.
@scotta1311
@scotta1311 6 лет назад
if you ever decide the double din is too much and tired of the amp behind your seat there is a great sony unit with built in amp just like the kicker sub. I run this setup in my mk3 supra. The 1 din deck powers my upgraded speakers and the kicker sub has its built in amp. just an idea for space saving.

I like everything you did minus the amp location. If it were me I would have located it right under the passenger seat so you wouldn't have to give up that back seat.
@saabkyle04
@saabkyle04 7 лет назад
Karnage543 It wouldn't fit, tried several ways. If you put an amp under the seat, the seat will crush it when someone gets in, let along scratch it bad if you slide it back and forth. The back seat is useless so it was an adequate sacrifice in this case.

In order for a speaker to make a sound difference with sound dampener you have to dampen the whole inside and 2nd door wallbefore the door cover then use fast rings otherwise adding just a 1x1 dampener square wont do anything you re loosing about 50% of the sound

Can you spare any information on how you kept your speakers from hitting the window inside the door and also cleared the speaker cover in the door panel? I'm currently trying to do this to my 240 using the plastic speaker adapters on ebay for 240's and having issues with clearances.

@saabkyle04
@saabkyle04 7 лет назад
Koji Takata I said in the video that I can't put it under the passenger seat. The reason being is that there is not enough clearance so the seat would end up crushing the amp if someone sat down.
