I could be wrong but he mentioned that they usually don't do installs, so it might just be a bunch of engineers who don't install unless its for a promo
The quality of harness you got because you had AIM do it is amazing. Must feel good having extra peace of mind. Seen so many videos of builds making a harness then going back in to fix some bad wiring or lack of grommets cutting wires through firewalls.. ie fasterproms, boostedbois, cleetusmcfarland, motionautotv, bisforbuild, grindhardplumbingcompany, mightycarmods (when they attempt a haltech on their own), etc. etc...
Love those old Civics, last gen of proper toy cars. So fun and revvy. My friend tried and I tried to make an rwd crx but the project just stopped. sad :(
I bought a 96 DX hatch (ek) For my first project car (20yo) It's B18 swapped now. :) Thank you Ben for inspiring me to pursue my dream of owning and working on an old Civic.
What impressed me was the custom harness. That was amazing work. Now to be real I was disappointed by your teaser about racing but you are a T.V. show. Thus you have to let us know what is coming. ;)
That's one heck of an upgrade and definitely a helpful tool when it comes to dialing in the driver mod! ;) After this year is done, looking forward to a running total of costs video ;)
That's next level stuff can't wait to see you put it into use temperature sensors on the tires is brilliant the GPS is good I wonder if they could actually track the lines you followed on the track to see if you can improve your position of the car with suspension monitoring also?
God you're lucky not having to deal with emissions down in that part of VA. Its easily one of the crappy things of having to worry about up here in NOVA. Awesome to see this car get built like this and along the way! Looking forward to future vids!

I’m kinda getting lost on the build here, don’t get me wrong I love the channel and the builds. But who’s being marketed to? Lol the digital dash is $2300! That’s 2-3 civics maybe more, for that you can just go wirewhere for a 4th that cost and still be extremely satisfied.
This is pretty high on the list of places I did not expect to see my lap data, lol. It looks like you're picking up the software pretty quickly though, good to see!

Yum yum, a well fitted gadgeted civic?? A hatchback JDM??? Sounds fun!! But i would have went with beauty which is G35 and make it super gadgeted just like this civic!! Also i would have went with AEM CD7..a big screen so that i dont have to peep in small screen..
I remembered the episode when this guy wanted to restore this car and just wanted it to be a proper looking EK9 type r, he also mentioned that he wanted to do a 5 lug and that's about it. Now, assuming everyone told him "Go faster, you'll be quicker at the lap they said".. Now with all these mods and custom fabrications that Ek9 with B16B OEM looking civic project is thrown out the Window.. Sad really..
for a double wishbone setup for both front and back, it's weird that you're on two wheels around the turn. it's not getting enough suspension travel and I'm not seeing the wheels toeing-in and maintain contact when one side is lifting up. I think a progressive setup is the best...but need some good shocks to take care of the soft part of the compression. If done right, you're barely going to need those LSD to power out of the turn.
sheet metal is fine...shiny surfaces howerver, are no fun. Should at least paint it to keep reflections out of your eyes if the sun or light source is behind/to the side. Personally, I love the look of simple analog gauges...Id have the AIM elsewhere and have most of the added sensors in a cluster of analog gauges (with digital signals obviously). Still, this Civic is a pristine example of how to build one..even without a K swap, the styling is simple but effective and the cars performance oriented. All its goodies are mostly unseen by the public, which is how i build most of my car! Caint wait to see this thing on the track!
