Can you really add up to 60 Horsepower to your BMW or MINI for just a few hundred dollars and 30 minutes of your time?
The short answer is yes, you sure can. BMW’s newer turbocharged models make great power, right off the dealer’s showroom floor. This applies to the four cylinder models just as well as the 6 and 8 cylinders. With this noted, many BMW enthusiasts yearn for even more power and the BMW turbocharged 4 and 6-cylinder engines are certainly up to the task .... IF .... the engine management systems allow it. The new generation of plug & play programmer/tuners from aFe Power, Burger Tuning and Dinan allow these engines to easily make “seat of the pants” power increases with great Horsepower per dollar cost ratios and very little install time. 30 years ago, we would have to spend many times these amounts to achieve a 10% to 20% power gain. We also would have spent dozens of hours to install the parts, all while working with comparatively dismal fuel economy. The “Good Old Days of Hot-Rodding” are TODAY!

FWIW. I have a 2012 528i F10 w/ N20 engine. Works GREAT up to Sport+ mode (+3PSI), but if set to Race (+4PSI), it's horrible. I have and only use 93 octane, but when accelerating, it's almost like the transmission is slipping, or the engine is starving for fuel. I can repeat the results by going to RACE then back to stock (or Sport+). Just sharing that race likely needs racing fuel 94+ octane and/or only a stage1 will work for +4PSI to give engine more fuel. But I do recommend the unit for SPORT+ mode as the butt dyno notices the difference! ;-)

When your Dinan is set in Sport+ which drive mode is your car??? or you car haven´t those modes?

can i combine this along with the dinan stage 1 tuner or it can only be one at a time?

I installed one on my 328d and there was no change at all. I used my VBOX to perform 0-30 0-60 in sport plus mode and no difference from the stock setting. Gladly I was refunded.

Installation is far simpler, but gains and optional tunability are not as great.

that's a ECU upgrade with coding options, this is a simple boost controller you can up the boost to gain power

We currently offer the Dinan chips for the late '80s / early '90s models with removable chips and non-EWS. If we have one for your model, it will be listed.
