Installing a Draught Exluder and Weatherstrip on a Triumph TR3A Door

I documented how I did this, including some lessons learned on how to tuck the ends in on the draught excluder (fuzzy door seal), using carpet tape, tips on punching in the weatherstrip clips without damaging the paint. I also fix some rust along the inside edge of a door, including use of Harbor Freights spot sandblast gun.

...I was lucky enough to accumulate a vast variety of weatherstrip from cars my local fire department gets to train with....most of it worked perfectly (from hatchbacks and van doors)....it's expensive to buy new,for sure.....I've had my TR3a 51 years now....

Interesting! I am sure if you could recall what weatherstrip you used people would be interested. I envy your long ownership. I wish I hadn't sold my first Triumph, a 64 Spitfire I bought in 1975.

@@triumphrestoration7403 I've never "restored" mine, just maintained it....A lot of miles, and a lot of memories,for sure....As for weatherstrips, ...I gathered all I could but never labeled, just used what matched.....I had an International Scout II for many years, same story......I just inform folks that, if you get permission, it's a truly great source of weatherstripping.......I always wanted a Triumph 250, but they have roll up windows, so to a purist like myself, they aren't a "true" sportscar, which requires sidecurtains and a hand crank.....I learned to drive on an MGTD.....It's in my blood, lol
