Amazing video, great use for those old smoke alarm spots, generic units can be quite surprising, i have 2 PureVolt generic emergency lights and they’re super bright, they also last a good 2 hours despite the box saying they only last 90 minutes

Interesting to see how small those have become with the transition to LED bulbs.

This is a good idea. Another thing these boxes could be used for is 24/7 security lights or other stuff you want on 24/7.

You know if I knew how to do it I probably would have tried to accomplish some of the things you did ! But I don't know how to do electric or Sprinklers! My question is you should cut power but I guess you will tell me you were able to not do so because you understood how to stay away from the live parts so you did not have a problem?

1:37 In my province this is a code violation. You're not supposed to have an exposed junction box with wires coming out, there needs to be a cover or fixture there. I know there is now. I'm just stating a fact.

60% failure to trip breakers under overcurrent situations

FPE Stab-Lok breakers are notorious for failing to trip on overcurrent. I'm sure I don't need to explain why that's bad. As no other type of breaker will fit you need to replace the entire breaker box.

@@Dawezil it won't give you problems until it does when you have an overloaded circuit and your wire starts to melting your walls it has happened multiple times to my coworkers and I've had a dead short on one of my breakers that did not open
