Hey guys, welcome back!!

Great work Nick I installed the same hydraulic steering to my boat but the only thing was with mine the tubing that came the unit wasn’t flexible to fit in my motor well so I had to buy flexible hoses other than that all good cheers 🎣🎣🎣

Nice presentation of the install. Not that you did anything wrong, but, I am kinda shy about using that plastic flex hose for compression connections without having some kind of metal sleeve slipped into the hose ends to keep the hose from crushing and leaking or coming out as well. I hope the setup works well for you and does not have any failures.

You did a very good job with that fitting up. I have the same Hydrive System on my boat, I stretched the tubing out in the sun for a day, before routing and fitting, was a lot easier ... but you got it done nicely !!!

Great vid and install thx mate. I have the same motor. Assume you haven’t water tested it but curious as to if you feel it was worth the dollars. We have a Webster Twinfisher and low speed turning when retrieving onto trailer is hard work!

awesome. Just a safety tip: i like to make sure the 9/16'' nut on the steering arm really gets a FULL 30ft/lbs of torque with a torque wrench. if that thing comes loose, goodbye ribs at 40 mph... or worse!

Nice work, gee I think I need this.. my steering is quite hard to steer on idle or when motor is off. Would this fix the issue?

Thanks for the video any idea why when fitting power steering it only drinking turning to starboard but when trying fill port up wheel is clicking and pushing out air

Hi, only just found your channel and watched every episode of the boat build,enjoyed every minute, If I could make just one comment,, as an auto electrician I feel that you should have installed a fuse block behind the dash for the various circuits,, i.e. a fault on the vhf or nav lights etc is not going to trip a 70amp breaker before causing some damage,,,,not knocking you,,just an observation

Barry Smith hey Barry Thankyou for watching! Thankyou for your feedback, all accessories run through the switch panel which have 15 - 30 amp fuses, the 70amp circuit breaker is there just for piece of mind and so main cable doesn’t short :)

Great video, very well explained. I am about to start building a pod to take 2 outboards on my SeaRay, it did have twin V6 petrol inboards on outdrives originally, I do not want a link bar connecting the steering from one to the other, I prefer have 2 rams, any idea how to run the hoses so I can steer both rams off one helm? Dometic now makes an electric steering system that hooks up the batteries. No hoses, no hydraulic fluid. Not sure of the price, but probably around a million dollars since its a boat.

I was thinking the same thing. A good coating of some marine trailer bearing grease would do nicely, and also for the collets to use to take the rest of the shimming play out of them, then, some loctite on the "grub screws" or "set screws" to keep those in place as well.

dude wrong wrong wrong, the the linkage to the steering arm on the motor goes to the very back hole,youul get more lock to lock,

Hi Darryl, not wrong at all fitting up the cylinder, the outboard sat straight with second hole, it was preferable to use furtherest hole but as the instructions said can use other if need be which worked better in my situation and once bleed, there is a diagram that shows an angle graph and on full lock showed a pass.

darryl stem thanks Darryl for input, when outboard goes in for full service I’ll ask them to check over and make sure there happy with how it’s been installed
