This is my next type of set-up.....12-14 Ft inflatable KaBoat (a little narrower than a dinghy) with a 6hp Hankgai with hydrofoil....can't beat the price to performance factor along with the ease of transport/launching/storage....10-12mph is all I need in the intracoastal waterway.
I have a 6hp mercury on a 2.9m inflatable and am having trouble getting on the plane with full fuel tank and fishing gear on board. Do you think this hydrofoil will help ? Many thanks. Great video

Considering adding these to my 2.5hp hangkai on an Intex Excursion. Mostly because when running at top speed the motor tilts backward (prop moves foreword). Think this would help with that? I’ve already done the other suggested mods, BTW.
We have an Intex Excursion with a 3.5 Hangkai that has the same issue. I'm not sure if it would help or not, I would almost be worried it would tilt the motor too far forward, but it would be worth a try. This particular hydrofoil barely fit on the Hangkai 6.0 so the cavitation plate on the 2.5 may be too small.
Yo bro, i have a similar boat and hangkai 12hp, had hardtime to plane it with 2 adults on board. I am buying a hydrofoil too , and another thing i realise that after doing research online which is the outboard is to deep in water which it cause drag, i believe if we can reduce it by maybe 2inch (i mean make an adaptor to raise the outboard by 2") , the outboard will perform better. I will try to make the adaptor soon .
I did notice that the motor was a little deep with the hydrofoil. On this one the sides of the fins should be out of the water while on plane but they are still an inch or so submerged. May have to look into raising it a bit and see what kind of difference it makes 🤔.
@@HufflerGarage bro! I just upload a video for you, i just stick a 1 1/4" stick on the outboard mounting. I havent try yet, i think you can try the idea too, if it works then only we can diy a proper transom adaptor/ extention next
I got the 4 stroke hangkai 6.5 HP and I love it. But I do have a question. My boat transom is 15" and the outboard cavitation plate with the hydrofoil sits 3" below the keel of my boat. How low below the keel do you have the hydrofoil on your boat? Do I need to raise mine with a jack plate to be even or slightly above the keel?
To work 100%, this hydrofoil should be right around the waterline if I recall correctly. Although even sitting below the waterline, it still helped to keep the boat on plane, but you lose some top speed.
I got the same motor and your videos have been really helpful. I'd love for you to do a video showing how to adjust the carburetor as I think mine needs adjusting.
Ordered one for my 12hp hangkai on a 12 ft plastic Jon boat. Going about 22mph all of a sudden all the water around the prop is gone and the prop is spinning in air until it slows down a little, hoping that this stops that!
