I had a four panel pocket door kit from Johnson that I completely had to rebuild because the spruce that they built it out of was like a propeller. After that I figured I would just order the tracks separately but they get expensive when you're not buying the kit. Great video! Definitely going to help somebody out.
Just confirming if the rough opening height is 84.5" off the subfloor, or off the finished floor. Johnson's instructions don't specifically say. Thanks
We need to make a video on that as well. It gets split door jams on the side that the door comes from and on the top solid jam on the side the door closes against.
The door jamb on the opposite side of the pocket will 5/8 or 3/4”. Then you’ll shim that about a quarter inch to make sure it is plumb with the door when closed.
Good video but I would’ve liked to have seen the full installation, including the door, I purchased the same kit and found the product to be a piece of garbage. I should’ve done more research in the beginning and bought the better quality pre-assembled pocket kit with the horizontal braces.
