Really, really well done. I have had to repair and maintain plent of irrigation systems on the coast for years. Systems installed by irrigation companies and landscapers. The way you have put your system together is exceptional. On par with the very best in the business. Well done mate. You put a lot of work into this.

I'm not sure if you're aware or not but what comes in the prospray heads are actually flush nozzles that you then remove before you put your MP heads in. So when you flushed the system you could have actually put the prospray bodies on and then flushed it.

Hi mate, yeah I did realise it in fact they are quite a great idea. I have noticed in the past any potential larger debris tends to stay in there.

Having installed lawn sprinklers before, it was always a pain getting them to the correct height. This is the first time I've seen elbows used like that, and it's a brilliant idea.

Why the solenoid near the shutoff valve and backflow prevention device? I am ‘designing’ my system currently and learning all I can about what to do and what not to do.

That’s known as a master valve. It opens when one of the zones is active. It keeps pressure off all the other valves when not in use and acts as a safety net incase a valve happens to stick open

Perfect timing! Ive literally got a box of my retic parts sitting next to me and its all the same gear!!! Only difference is im using the white pressure pipe and have to glue everything.

What's the red stuff called? I use lox seal and it replaces thread tape entirely.

Loxeal is only for Metal to Metal joints and isn't recommended on metal to poly. Stag jointing paste is popular because it seals pretty much anything from gas fittings to chemical resistance in dosing systems as long as its a threaded joint. Stag is a hell of a mess as you can see but where I've installed commercial and domestic grade systems in Queensland we use an alternative of thread tape paired with a product by Christy's called ultra seal which does the job smick every time.
