Nice instructional video ! You just took me back about 25 years when I did exactly what you are doing here, installing Side Curtains, Fasteners etc. on a late war Full Winter Enclosure. As a taller guy like yourself, there is a certain amount of "Gymnastics" required to enter and exit the vehicle with the zippered doors ! LOL You may recall seeing my wife and I with our 43 GPW at this years CFFC FCT? We had the CONVOY sign on the windshield and full size US Flag attached to the Wire Cutter all week. We definitely enjoyed having the side curtains mid week with the rain. Heads up, you may find that the fasteners around the bottom of the door sill become more difficult to get in place as the canvas goes through a few wet-dry cycles and shrinks ! Hope to see you at another FCT !!
When I first arrived in Germany with the UK army in 1952 we had sides like these on our Willys Jeeps, but they were short lived and we were ordered to take them off. Someone said it was for safety, but cannot see why.
So how did it work in the snow.? I have had my GPW on Morgan immigrant trail with chains on all 4 on the NDT. Retry fun. I’m working on a 45 mb now and just restored a wwii heater. I want an Arctic top for it.
