Legend. Helped me fix a jacket that I was told couldn't be fixed without replacing the entire zipper (restiching etc.). Simple process after watching your video. Took me all of 5 minutes (taking a zipper puller from one of the unused jacket pockets) and jacket is good to go. Thank you!
At 3:00 I just cut off one end, on the side where the zipper is always attached. Then I could just bring it to the bottom and zip as normal and save cutting off the other stopper. Thanks for this 👍
Wouldn't it be easier to just open the puller a bit with pliers if that's all u need? And clamp it on? Im so annoyed rn.... this is too much work! Argh..
Please search youtube for the following video which will show you how to shorten and install stops in zippers: "Zipper Shortening & Stops - Part 4 of Zippers Explained in Detail"
Some of your comments are so rude and ugly. If you don't like the video, don't watch. You don't like his voice, don't listen! But to make disgusting remarks only tells me you people are low-lifes!!!
Big oof. My zipper fell off my jacket, this isnt the first time this happened to this jacket... But I've never had to cut off the stoppers tho. The stopper groves are kinda a T shape so I slid the zipper along the stopper groves and kinda forced it back on. No cutting necessary.
Only easy if the zip is not already installed in a garment. If you want to install a new slider to a jacket with the zip in situ then it’s not as easy at all!
Why dont you just pull out one of the teeth then slide the toggle back on. Then do a couple stitches where you pulled the tooth out and the toggle wont come off. I have been doing it this way for years work so good and you dont have the zip fraying at the top just stitch into facing as usual.
Hi, would this zip puller work on a replacement rear plastic window on a cabriolet?... PLEASE let me know, if it wont do, can ANYONE help me find the zip puller I need for a renault megane rear window, yr 2002?... thanks Marguerite
Thanks you! I was replacing the slider on my greenhouse door. I was trying to put the slider on skinny end down because that's the way the old slider was. When I put the Fat end facing down it went on with in seconds!
This video will show you how to shorten a finished zipper and install or create your own stops with a hotknife. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ptTvhn323Ww.html
If the slider's puller broke you can replace the slider with a brand new one or use something like a Zipper Pull Tab and feed it through the part of the slider (if still in good condition) that used to hold the broken puller. Here is a link: www.sailrite.com/Zipper-Pull-Tab-White
Great videos, but how to fix the starter post in the bottom of a coat zipper, it almost came off and is hanging on a thread and it is very difficult to insert it into the slider.
I was sewing the zipper of my bag and unintentionally glided the locks all the way through to eternity and found your video very helpful... I almost freaked out if ever I can fix it or just throw it away lol...thanks again! :-)
This is completely worthless. So the only way to fix it is if the zipper broke while the coat was zipped but you weren't wearing it(!) or cut the zipper making it worthless. Gee, thanks.
