Installing Acerbis X-Factory handguards on my 2022 KLX300 

Thanks for posting this. I just went through the same thing with the Acerbis X-Factory handguards on my 2009 KLX 250 and this video was helpful - especially the part about drilling and tapping the ends of the bars.

Nice video the more detail the better for those who have never done any of this before.

I would highly recommend new bars if you are going through all this. The ones that come on the bike won’t hold up to hard abuse. They most likely will crumple on a sliding low side.

Wow! I appreciate the video and you did some fine work, but I think I am going to just do a set of handlebars and the bark busters so everything can just be a bolt and go kit so to speak. That was a lot of rigmarole to go through.

Id like to add handguards to my 300 soon as well. Another inner mounting option is the triple clamp handguard mount by cycra, g2 mongo, or zeta. Ill also have to factor in the 30mm rise from my bar risers.

Does anyone make a handguard that doesn’t require drilling or sawing on the bars?

Nice video with good job doing here ! I dont know what material your tap is made of ,but im not sure is a good idea to hit it on the counter to clean it,in general tap is fragile and if only a small part of the tap broke or got a deformation , its gonna be harder to twist it and do your job properly ,best way to clean that tool is to blow air on it with a compressor ! Btw I really need these nice handguards on my klx300 ,it looks really good.

Hey KC... didn't you put a larger tank on the KLX 300? How did you remove the tank? Looks like there is the tan drain or overflow hose and a 3- to 4-inch hose to a short cylinder (fuel injection or something). These hoses have pinch circlips holding them to the tank. I'm sure I can get them off, but I'm worried I wouldn't be able to get them back on. And there's another hose or electrical connection to the rear of the tank. I just want to get the tank out of the way enough to get to the spark plug. Any tips?

These look great man. Just ordered these for my KLX 250 and will be going through a process trying to get them to Mount properly. This video was very helpful man. I will update on how well it goes. Lol wish me luck

I was hoping I could do this without removing the throttle but after seeing the problem you ran into I will just do it, I really would not feel confident it will not have shavings. Can you remove the throttle without cutting the rubber?

What size tap and bolt did you use

Hi, did I hear right that you've used M8 x 1.25 tap? Did you have to drill the plug first?

Why not just get pro taper bars and do the install? It would be far easier, and those bars would hold up to abuse way better than the stock bars!

Those really do not fit that bike well at all. I sure do like the colors though.
