Installing an aftermarket unit in a DSP equipped BMW retaining the DSP amp.

I just ordered this instead of having to install the old head unit in the trunk to trick the ibus. Be careful that the harness from the aftermarket unit (especially seicane) doesn’t have a wire in the Ibus pin. Feel free to reach out if you need help.

Is there any way to get the still-connected OEM headunit volume setting to stay when the car is turned off and then back on? I have the old headunit connected in the boot area using the CDC connectors and each time I start the car, it reverts to the DSP amp volume all the way down. What's funny is it retains the DSP setting (Jazz, Rock, etc.)

im lost. this isnt working for me. did the tape deck in the trunk thing. no cigar. put the tape deck back in the dash, works fine. i tried plugging the eonon stereo into the harness with the stock stereo installed in the dash just to get power. and connected 2 speaker wires. all i get is sound from the stock stereo. how do you get sound and steering controls to work with the new unit? nobody ever explains all of this. each video or how to online are all mixed up, in pieces. one says to do this another says do to that. i wish you or somebody would explain the whole process how you get yours to work. which wire from where goes to where? how does the new head unit come into play with the old hooked into the system still? some thread said to keep the stock stereo set to radio. all it wants to do is play the damn radio from IT not from the new unit. i would pay to know this. name your price and guide me please?

I your video when you say that you must connect the bypass, is this something you had or purchased?? I understand your entire video except that. I drew a blank there. I had no problem with the three wires for the hu in the truck and I relocated the radio to the glove box. If you could just tell me about the bypass I think I can finish this. Thanks.

Is this the same steps for e39 with dsp? I have factory amp and no sound with an aftermarket head unit.

Did you get better sound quality when having the new head unit?

What?... I still have to have all that other shit hooked up somewhere?... I have the DSP and the CD changer in the back.. where the hell am I supposed to put that shit?

I expected to watch this video to learn something... waste of time..
