Thanks a lot for the video, it’s been very helpful , i’ve installed the Junsun is a C5 Tourer 2011, just the Canbus setup has been different one for the volume to work. Regards
I'm a C5 X7 2012 owner and I'm trying to find a unit that replaces the original screen if possible. Also weirdly my C5 doesn't have USB sockets that these android units must need for power. He doesn't say which Junsun model this is.
@@comcarclubGood video, could you tell me which Junsun model it is. Thanks. It's weird the CD player plays mp3 data discs and there is no USB socket to do the same, if it had this I could live with the original unit in my C5 X7 2012 even if the sat nav is Jurassic to use it works.
@@nocturnal1970 it's a Junsun v1 pro 2gb 32gb RAM. I'm surprised to hear your 2012 C5 doesn't have USB input. It should have an RT6 which has USB support. In fact, it sounds like the horrible RNEG unit that came with the car and was utter crap
@@comcarclub Yeah, watched a later video of you with 163bhp car review and you say the Junsun was garbage. The problem is you bought a 2GB 4 Core version and it runs Android 12 which really needs 6GB 8 cores so that is the one I might get for about £200. The wireless Android Auto unreliability sounds bad though but I assume your phone is at least Android 11? They shouldn't sell 1GB or 2GB units with Android 12, I seen videos of 8GB versions and they are like lightning. Yeah the car is RNEG, I remember that from updating the firmware. I'll have to wire USB sockets into the fusebox using piggy back connectors but the car doesn't allow much power to stay on after the ignition is switched off, you can't listen to the stereo parked after a few minutes if that. Thanks again and maybe the Junsun units are unreliable, it's difficult to find out long term reliability.
That's because I never got round to installing a camera (I wasn't going to install 360º cameras, I don't think they even exist for my car). I got rid of the Android unit because it was so awful
@@comcarclubI bought 2 versions for 2 cars. This expensive one is terrible and the cheaper one is great. I had a small problem with the ADAS camera. It wouldn't show me the ADAS system, but I already did it and the Chinese still wonder why it doesn't work.
i have mekede 2km500s, awesome unit, beautiful 2k screen, really fast... cost ~280 euros (unit only)... Aw, forgot to mention, car is 2002 Citroen xsara coupe
Hey mate did you tryed at last connect the bipbip sound of sensors parking in ech speakerslike settings factory?? Nice video I got one c5 hdi 2013 year and with similar radio I have to change the wire completly because all are dry and broken connectors, bad quality.
At 6:26 into your video, there's a blue, white and grey connector that went into the old RNEG unit. Do you know or have a diagram on what each of the cables are for? Silly me bought the 3d models for the 2 cup holders that are not the retractable one x) - Oh well. It fitted nicely.
@@comcarclub I googled a bit, and Marc from the forums mentioned that the blue one is gps, grey is fm2 and white is fm1. (radio signals) - I was thinking of using the excising antennas for gps and radio for my android head unit with some fakra adapters.
Thanks a lot for this video; i have the same car and option so it will help a lot. Do you remember the aliexpress listing for this junsun unit ? the one I see have pictured the monochrome lcd. Are they compatible with the plastic trim / lcd holder thing ? Thanks
@@comcarclub yeah I even added a booster and I changed the sensitivity level in factory settings it did help but reception is awful. Mine is a different brand, can't remember what it's called.
It would be an upgrade to the original screens if it wasn't gigantic.. I am still considering that thing but it's goddamn huge, that's such a drawback it's like those 2013 Mercs with ipads stuck on the dash
@@Ivan-jz9by there are the NAC units that are Android Auto compatible. I've mentioned them in videos but they're very expensive. I've seen a Russian video where it's been done, and there's a thread on the French car forum: frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69891
Футболка клёвая 👍 👍 👍 а с5 как у меня, тоже на механике 6 ступенчатой, дизель, эксклюзив. Не знаю как у вас, а у меня ещё универсал. Возможно нашлись две одинаковые машины 🚀
Hi, I got a Sony ax6000 to put into a c52012, but the people who did it did not plug in the computer cables at the back so now I have a permanent check engine light on. I did not see in this video hope you managed to close the computer loop, does that particular unit come with the right slots for the computer plugs? Thank you.
@@comcarclub I'm sorry. I didn't explain myself well. I mean if the two connectors of the old screen must be connected to the new screen in some way or they remain unconnected
For future users: If seller gives you two frames to install the device (one for device and one behind the fascia (that part with hole for screen, ventilation and knobs)) then this frame is universal. It will perfectly fit the monochrome display version. The part of the frame between LCD and storage will be between the given frames. I just installed a 10" Android multimedia device and it fits perfectly. In future I consider removing center of the metioned frame part, because cooler isn't fully exposed.
I've recently installed a similar headunit myself and realized that I can't insert the trim piece after the headunit is in the dash. I've seen cars with this headunit and the trim installed so my best guess is that you need to put the trim piece in its place and then put the whole thing in the dash, then gently lift the right hand side of the trim and do the 2 torx screws with a 90 degree angle bit (if possible at all without breaking the trim) and just leave the most left one without a screw. That's my plan but I can't bring myself to to disassemble this again :D. I'll try not to forget to come back and post a comment with how it went once I try it out :)
@@tonistoykov3544 I made a new trim piece of cardboard and felt. As for the hole in the middle of the dashboard where the original radio was, well, maybe in a future video. I'm still testing a solution
@@comcarclub Oh, I didn't realize we are talking about the hole where the original radio sits, there is a tray that goes there in the later original Satnav versions (SMEG) I'm sure a Citroen dealer can source that for you. We'll be waiting for that video if you find a more interesting solution ;)
I have the same screen installed from two days ago, for android auto did you download the headunit reloaded emulator? Because my screen is not working just plugging the USB into the phone and most of the people solved it using that app
If you install this particular unit, you use the car's parking sensors but not the sound from the speakers. As for other head units, it's case by case, as far as I know
Hello, could you please provide the name and model of that Android Unit? Is it not possible to reinstall the silver band in the console after installing this unit?
The bald guy at the end was just trying to be passive aggressive. What a complete tool. If they accept they have zero power and light heartedly engage with the auditor they will stop looking like clowns. They can't though because their arrogance won't let them.
