Excellent video gig! I remember way back when the legend first came out, I was pulling my hair out, trying to get it to install software. But you’ve explained it so clearly it’ll be a simple chore doing it now. I’m gonna wait until the final result is out and install it. Again, thanks for this video! 👍👍
*************************** Hi Gig. I was able to get out yesterday and finally do some proper testing with DT and BM. I was experimenting in a public park with low mineralization. To start though, nowhere in the update description does it say that DT or BM goes deeper. The description states that these modes are designed to better separate nonferrous targets from the ground signal and ferrous objects. DT was working well in my testing. It very often turned a one way signal or an iffy one way signal, into solid 2 way nonferrous hits. It normally did so with clean audio and accurate IDs. BM worked well on about 30% of the fringe targets. With the other 70% of fringe targets, it either did no better, or did worse than Park Mode. BM also severely up averaged nonferrous targets, but that effect was more pronounced on lower conductors like foil. From what I've read, other than the depth thing, many are expecting BM to give accurate audio and ID, but I don't think that's possible. I mean, BM is designed for fringe targets. Fringe targets don't contain enough information to have accurate audio and ID. That is the very nature of fringe targets. That's why I don't think BM can provide better ID and audio than the other modes. All it can do (sometimes), is give an "on" audio response to indicate a nonferrous target, when other modes can't.
That is the best explanation of how to get into it that I have seen so far! I just updated, did the reset and and now good with the new update. Thanks.
I just purchased the Legend with the LG 30 coil 2 months ago, I have 50 hours on the machine, NOT very impressed with this machine. Still love my 800 thinking on buying the 900.
It’s funny, beast mode sounds like it will blast down to below the plow line, lol. Hats off to Nokta for actually appreciating their customers and trying to please them, instead of selling crappy quality at a huge price like the company from Down under. Loved their technology, hated their crappy quality and even worse ergonomics. Thanks Nokta and the Gigmaster.
It’s funny, Legend changed and became a breeze to update, Deus changed from easy to almost impossible, lol. I used to update deus 1 like a breeze. Tried to update my deus 2, it locked up and I had to send it back to fix it. I just can’t get the hang of all this technology
First let me thank you for all your videos, they are excellent. Unfortunately, I did exactly what you did...on a macbookpro, but having issues... I get this message...USB accessories disabled...unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable USB devices huh??? I have never downloaded a new version and have the originall 1.11 There is nothing else plugged into my computer...was wondering if anyone else experienced this problem, my version of the macbookpro uses a thunderbolt connection so I have to use a USB converter block (thank you Apple, smh) perhaps I need a powered USB hub. I have a message out to Nokta and will let you know what they say.
Hi Steve......When you apply the dt, or the beast mode, when you shut off the machine, then turn it back on, do you have to keep turning (dt and beast mode) on? Or is it global and stay on?? I updated to the new software and found out my Legend was chattering like crazy. Not too excited if that was the result of upgrading!! It was the quietest machine under powerlines before..... I didn't try single frequency, which I should've!!
I believe the dt will stay where you save it. The beast mode was still there when I went to gold mode but you can switch it off by hitting the frequency button. It is a mode of its own. Not on unless you switch to it.
With what nokta has give us with the legend. They have set the bar high, this mode doesn’t deserve to be on the legend. Hope they figure things out for the alpha
