I know that you still want to cover the light to protect it, but a short extension on the wrench will keep it a little farther away from the back of the light. Great job with this installation on such a badass bike. Thanks for all the info on who you ordered your stuff through. I saw the passenger video and J&P really left you hanging by not including all of the parts you were supposed to get with that seat. Appreciate the info.
+stratosjeff I went into the shop to get an older one, but this one bit me in the butt and claimed me. Take one for a test drive one day. That screaming eagle engine made a woman out of me LOL.
Such a helpful video! Thank you! Can you share the exact part numbers for the sissy bar & mounting brackets? Having a hell of a time finding one for my 2016 Softail Slim
I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately they do not sell the part numbers anymore.I dug up all that information and looked for it and so did the other guy and it was no longer being made.
Nikki Holland 😤 Figures! Thank you for looking!!! I found some really nice ones on Etsy. Handmade by a guy a guy named Edward Richie. Beautiful looking stuff and excellent reviews. Wish me luck!
Wow, thanks a ton! Even though I have my very knowledgeable husband who is a great teacher it's nice to see another woman rider doing her thing. I just bought a 2016 SS and can't wait to get back from South Korea (in the Army) to start tweaking on her. LTRRTL
Hooah, right on. Safe travels...I was in the Army some time ago. It's one of the reasons I love this bike, although I consider this bike like riding with my Grandpa, who was the only other military member in my family. Enjoy your bike and be safe!
Great install video. One comment is that the brackets are supposed to go between the fender supports and the fender (that’s why they say to remove the reflectors. It also keeps the flow of the lines of the bike when the fender rails are exposed). Otherwise, nice job....ride safe.
have a question how well does it ride with 2 people and are those seats comfortable for long drive cause im looking for new seats but been hard time to find the right seats
Can I ask you one question Nikki. I have a Slim S also, and love the plates, since the work with the tail lights great!! BUT, how are you protecting the metal that these plates mount to?? That is, is there any protective rubber, or similar, that is preventing the plates from scratching the mount bars underneath?? That would concern me. Please let me know when you can. thanks!! It was a fabulous video!!
I think I will buy the same bars that you bought, but will buy some rubberl I think I will buy the same bars that you bought, but will buy some kind Of rubber protection barrier, to place between the mounting plates and where they mount to the motorcycle. It probably won’t scratch it a lot, but it will scratch or tarnish the black finish overtime. I know that Harley Davidson makes one for the 2018 and newer models, that have rubber grommets that fit in the mounting holes, thus giving protection against the metal once mounted. Too bad you don’t live close to my area otherwise we could ride together!! 👍👍👍👍
Ronald Johnson I believe that's what Harley wants us to do with their options...Or to buy a relocation kit. If you end up doing that, please post pics or video links to share with others. I did it one way, but there are undoubtedly a lot of other alternatives.
Juan CHUCK Garcia I used Mustang Seats. Check out my other RU-vid videos and you can see where I got them and everything. Even how they were installed. I don't recall off the top of my head but it is definitely in there.
Its very secure. No shifting or anything I've noticed, but I did not lean back on it that heavily as a passenger and haven't had any passengers who did.
@@NikkiHollandMusic How rall was the one you installed, 18 inches? I need a sissy bar to strap a full ruck sack to and want to make sure I dont lose it on the hightway.
Gotcha. Right now the bike is in storage for the season and I will probably take it out in May. You might do well to just contact the Harley dealership and have them drop you the measurements over the phone.
Nikki Holland oh I see I need one thats skinner but same brand probably I have the same harley but i bought the vivid black version thank you for your input I've been shopping around for a sissy bar that fits properly and because I know now which brand works. please show more videos of prolong use on those sissy bars because I will be strapping a duffle bag
I am Albert Good luck. I know there aren't a ton of options out there. If you know anybody at a trade school you can perhaps talk to them about making one for you custom.
+Natty Dread I believe it was 8 3/4" on the spread at the bottom where the fender is. I'm pretty sure I mentioned it in the video, but I double checked to be sure from my order, and it was 8.75" for sure.
