I just put in on my fat tire Aventon. Had some issues. It went in good in rear tire not so much in the front tire. I had to keep clearing the valve in the front tire because it would not go in. The second issuer was both tires coming off the rim when inflating. I had better luck turning the bike over to take weight off the tires.

I had the same issue with the tire not sitting on the rim properly. I didn't turn my bike over instead I used a manual pump with one hand and squeezed my tire with the other until it got properly seated then I used my electric pump.

I have like 5 questions: 1. Should you shake or mush the Flat Out around to keep those kevlar fibers evenly dispersed, or do they not clump? 2. On my bottle, it refers to a stem removal tool somewhere on the bottle like maybe with the cap part you remove? 3. You didn't let our every last bit of air, just until the pressure evened out? 4. Do you know something I don't know as regards to PSI? My original Radrunner says 60psi. That sounds like a lot. Plus I'm 300lbs, so i max it out. Between your *personal* choice of 20psi, and my bikes tire saying 60psi, is there some sort of bike mechanics wisdom that thinks that number is flexible? Or does a guy in my situation HAVE TO use what it says on the tire? 5. You said instructions said half bag, 16oz, per fat tire. My bottle says 1/4 per bike tire. Thanks.
@theridewithlance
@theridewithlance 8 дней назад
1. The Flatout stay liquid in your tire. So when you ride it constantly coats the inside of the tube, so you dont need to worry about it clumping. 2.The valve stem tool comes with some bottle or bags, but not all. It should say in the description if it does, or you may have to order it separately. 3. When you remove the valve core from the valve stem, all air will flow out. 4. I have 26X4 inch fat tires. They have a PSI range of 5psi min, to 35 PSI max. For the type of riding I do, I found 20 psi works the best. No bike mechanics wisdom, just comfort level. So no, you dont have to use whats on the tire, just stay in the minimum and max range that fits your comfort level when riding. That is the instructions on the bags I used for a fat tire bike with 26 inch wheels. 20 inch wells would use less.

Hello, I just came across your video. I have a lectric xp3.0 e-bike. My question is, Does it matter which flat out I get there's 3 different types of bag's. There's a green, yellow and gold strip on the bag. Which one is the best one for my bike? Also My Bike came with slime already in it. It's going on one year I had this bike. Is it safe to put flat out in my Inner tube?
@theridewithlance
@theridewithlance 21 день назад
I used the gold "Multi-Purpose Formula" Slime says their sealant is good for two years before its start to be less affective. If you are going to use FlatOut, I would install a new tube and not mix it with Slime.

The bag clearly says 1/4 of bag per tire for bikes. Can you put too much or does it just make the tire heavier?
@theridewithlance
@theridewithlance 3 месяца назад
16oz for 26x4" fat tires. The bag I had was a 32oz bag. So half a bag per tire. If you put too much you might get an unbalance wheel.

Liquid won’t go in the innertube when I try squeezing the bag, any tips Lance?
@theridewithlance
@theridewithlance Месяц назад
Did you remove the valve core from the inner tube firsts? If not remove it before trying to squeeze in the flatout. If you have removed the valve core you may have a clog in tube that connect to the valve. This happened to me a couple times myself and I just had to clear it. Try squeezing it out, or take something thin you can use to push it out of the way. Also make sure your tube valve is at the 3 oclock or 9 oclock position. you dont want to try and fill it if the valve is at floor level.

Great easy to understand video. I would like to know what attachment you used to air up your tires that tells you when the tire pressure reached 20 psi. I've been looking for something like that but haven't found one.
@theridewithlance
@theridewithlance 3 месяца назад
I used a air compressor that has a PSI needle on it. Similair to the old style gas station air hoses used on vehicles. Now, I have a portable rechargeable handheld I got from Lectric. You can program the PSI level you want and it will automatically cut off when it reaches it. There are several companies now that make them. Just do an Amazon or google search for "Handheld Air Compressor" and you should see a pretty good selection.

Also, for places with winter climates, does the liquid buildup if the bike sits in the garage? Or should the wheels be spun every couple days just to keep it from pooling or drying towards the bottom? Thanks again.
@theridewithlance
@theridewithlance 3 месяца назад
The liquid never dries, but spinning the wheels every one in a while would not hurt if the bike is going to sit for long periods of time. I have had no issues with the bikes that have sat for several months without spinning the wheels.

I like the video, but you didn’t say anything about making sure when you air up the tires to make sure the tire bead seat correctly. Looking at the video Your front tire did not seat correctly right before you cut the video. It’s important that people know how to check that the tires seat correctly or they can blow out the inner tube. It’s best not to use a compressor to fill the tires back up, using a handheld electric pump or a hand pump is the best way to avoid not seating the tires correctly.
@theridewithlance
@theridewithlance 6 месяцев назад
Yes, I should have addressed making sure the bead sets right when pumping the tire back up. It did seat right though. I did check both tires after I did the rear tire, but yes that is a good point.

Last step should be to spin the tire so the FlatOut is distributed around the entire inside of the tube. FlatOut stays liquid inside your tire and it will clog your valve stem if you use too much. (Fortunately you can remove and clean the valve core if this happens.) I've used FO in 2 ebikes over the past 4 years without a single flat (knock wood!).
