Thank you to Salty Gears Offroad in Salt Lake City for always treating me like family and for the great work you always do! Follow me on Instagram: / raptorsofinsta
Research fox 3.0 for my raptor and just realized I saw your truck mlk weekend at deer valley in 2024 and liked your set up / front bumper. It stands out.
Looking good! Anyway you can tell me any info about those rims that were in the shop unmounted? They had a bright orange bead lock. Would love to get those!! 🙏
Yes! Call Salty Gears Offroad, they’re in Salt Lake City. Ask for Tony and tell him Nate sent you. Just say you saw the orange wheels in one of my RU-vid videos. They’ve been doing them on a lot of cars recently and it’s sweet!
Truck looks awesome I did the Fox 3.0 install on my '17 Raptor a year and a half ago (w/ Deaver +3HD springs). Like you said, they are a massive upgrade. Tuning can be pretty tricky and there aren't many good videos on that. Seeing the comments below it sounds like you are installing an adjustable UCA. I used Camburg billet on mine with KHC alignment slot delete. No alignment issues after substantial offroading. Assume you are doing the slot delete also? If you aren't planning on it you should reconsider. My only other recommendation is a hydraulic bump stop kit. I was shocked at how often I get into them. Definitely some piece of mind when doing more aggressive terrain.
Thanks appreciate it! They are a massive upgrade, but I'm still learning to tune the front and haven't even touched the rear yet. If you have any tips please feel free to message me on Instagram I'm all ears. Yes I have Icon UCA going on later this week, as well as drop shackles so that I can lower the rear end a bit and take some preload off the front and still sit close to level. I don't have hydraulic bumps yet, but might consider that next.
Awesome, hope you do a review on the shocks on how you adjust them for off road and street use. There's only one other video on you tube with a review but its very vague. So you don't have to swap upper control arms to get them to fit? Truck build is coming along very nicely 👌.
I’m planning to do a review of the shocks, I noticed there’s not a lot of RU-vid content on them so I’m hoping to change that. I want to test them for a few weeks first so I can give an honest review. I have new Icon billet upper arms going on soon, they just weren’t in stock at the time. Thanks for following along!
I don't remember the name, but I talk about that whole Raptor build in another video if you're interested. It's a sweet setup. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AGm2fs4qrB4.html
Damn that wrap is making me jealous! How much more clearance did you get with the 3.0 upgrade? I have mine leveled on 37s and rides good but I won’t a little more clearance.
Love the wrap! You can preload the front 3.0s to give a couple more inches, but then you start messing with CV angles. I had my front end raised pretty high and ended up going back down to about 2” over stock so that I don’t break my CV axles when I offroad. Upgraded leaf springs in the rear will also give some added height over stock.
Hey man. Just curious to chat with you about a few things. I know there’s tons of info out there but it’s so hard to judge because trolls are everywhere and the forums are trash these days. Just scored a 2020 Raptor, beyond stocked about it. But I would like some real life experience on some stuff. Thanks if you have the time to reach out personally.
Thanks! I am, BFG KM3 35x12.50R17. I have a 0 offset wheel so the stance is a little more aggressive which I love. A lot of people think I’m running 37s.
It rides so much better than stock! I love it. I did the Fox 3.0 shocks and also did icon leaf springs in the rear. It's a big upgrade with both of those.
@@raptorsofinsta sounds sweet. I’d like to fit the Fox 3.0 piggy back rear shocks to my UK MRST Ranger, but I believe they won’t fit. So I have the original stock shocks…..mind you this “Pavement Princess” of a Truck will never hit the trails/off-road as it’s a lovely looking truck.
The Fox 3.0 were awesome, if you do it definitely do new leaf springs that made a big difference with rear end stability. If I had the option of live valve on the 2018 that would’ve been even better.
No regrets buying my Fox 3.0 shocks. If you offroad quite a bit, they're definitely worth the upgrade! If you don't offroad much or at all, the best thing I would recommend is switch out your stock leaf springs to a set of Icon Springs. You'll notice a significant difference and smoother ride in the back end of the truck.
@@raptorsofinsta they are noisy the valves clack a lot but they ride really really well with no fade. Keeps you planted keeps the truck very predictable soaking up everything.
Yes, it raised it quite a bit. You can preload the spring and I had it set almost to the max, but I’m going to lower it back down a couple of inches before I ruin my CV axles. Looks great tall but not very functional. My exhaust is the AWE 2FG, I absolutely love it. If you look through my videos I have a few showcasing the exhaust.
I notice the shocks clicking on road but only on very bumpy stuff (potholes and such). Haven’t tested them offroad yet because I’m getting a few other suspension things done later this week.
Holy Schinies! Those bad boys are $3400 a pair. So these can't be used on the 2019 Raptor with the live valve shocks, right? You're giving me some good ideas for my Raptor but I just dumped $10K on my Rubicon. I need to close a few more deals.
They’re not cheap! Going to put them to the test offroad and see if they’re worth it (I hear they are). For the 19-20 there is a live valve version, they’re even more expensive 😂 it never ends!
