opencore: "hey um keyboard and mouse might not work on this mac for the install.." jiga: "ok install it anyway" keyboard and mouse doesnt work jiga: "whats wrong with it??? how do i fix this????"
I see you didn't read the instructions because it's almost not appropriate. However, you got this, and I noticed that installing Yosemite and then High Sierra from Mavericks takes more time. Instead, you should make a macOS High Sierra install bootable so that you can install it directly from Mavericks. That would be faster and save you a lot of time. I've been a Mac user since 2012 and have extensive experience with all the Macs I've used. Great work, and keep it up!
@@NicVandEmZyou probably replied here by accident but it wasn’t waiting for a Bluetooth mouse it was waiting for a mouse I had the same issue when installing
OMG I WAS WAITING FOR THIS (havent watched the full video you might want to use a cheap metal gpu like an rx 580 not sure if macs support adding egpus)
@@milktoast56its not bad. But when upgrading my imac 2011 i broke one of the cables that’s used for the screen when trying to put it back together so a word of caution.
Honestly the fact that it's running pretty smoothly on a 15 year old computer is pretty amazing. I'm sure a RAM and SSD upgrade would work wonders on this iMac.
i did the same thing on my macbook with mac os big sur a few years back and had the exact same thing with needing to update this shit for like 12 different versions for it finally to work 😂
Without a doubt, macOS Mojave is the best option for this kind of Mac. Older Macs without Metal support have issues with the latest versions, which makes even simple apps extremely sluggish. You can play older games that are no longer supported by later macOS versions thanks to Mojave's support for 32-bit applications.
The irony of this video is that you actually can play games because this machine is compatible with 32 bit, but you have to stop at Mojave which is the last OS with 32 bit Support. And you need at least a 2012 machine with a metal compatible graphics card in order to really get away with the newer versions. Even with an integrated gpu, as long as it’s Metal compatible you can even get a 2012 MacBook Pro running smoothly on Ventura at least.
Patching an installer and forcing the latest macOS version to work on it with also providing patches to fix issues. The reason it was super laggy when he first installed was because it didn’t have any hardware acceleration and opencore had to install the driver to make it work. Imo if you’re gonna do this you should also upgrade your old mac’s ram and change the hard drive to and ssd. That will make a world of a difference. Cpu and gpu can be upgraded in older imac’s too if you’re up for that challenge.
actually most new apps wont work because the gpu doesnt have metal graphics, it only has opengl graphics, so most new things will crash or not work unless0 u download an old version
@@JigaTech how did that iMac not explode we will never know the back must of been burning tho because of that metal. also, this is the first video from your channel that I watched and I loved it keep up the good work
