Well eh, Metro UI was based on a completely different framework. UWP had a new set of WinRT APIs that were used along with it. I get where you're coming from though.
I would expect Metro apps to work in Windows 11 because the Metro apps evolved into UWP apps in Windows 10, and then we have WinUI 3 that is replacing UWP, but the core is the same.
Mostly. WinUI 3 isn’t the same core as UWP. UWP runs on the AppContainer layer and is separated from the rest of the system. WASDK/WinUI 3 is more Win32-esc, and provides more direct access to system APIs like file management. It interops WinRT APIs through COM (just as UWP would but it’s native there, winrt is still COM). WASDK also makes it a little bit easier to interop Win32 APIs using extern methods from a certain library. Also WASDK isn’t fully replacing UWP, as WASDK Win32 apps don’t run on HoloLens, Xbox, or other Windows Core OS variants that don’t include Win32 container support.
To download a Windows 8 APPX, head over to web.archive.org/web/20210515075147/support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/8487cd84-a894-ff4d-33c9-acbacd9c910b. Then, you'll see the "KB Number". Find this number, paste it into the search bar at www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx. Then, download the package that fits your system. By the way, they come in .CAB files that need to be extracted. This will then give you a .MSI file. Then again, you need to extract this MSI file using 7zip and you will find the needed files. Last but not least, you'll see the file "AppxPackage". However, you may notice that there is no file extension. Rename "AppxPackage" file to "AppxPackage.appx". Also, make sure to rename the dependency packages too with the .APPX extension and install them before the main app.
Ehj! I'm also a big fan of metro apps design. I want to have them on my surface that doesn't support Win 8.1 unfortunately... it's years that I'm trying to install 8.1 but I can't... INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR blue screen appears and I can't install it. the problem is that the first link is expired... can you please resend the link or write me the name of the file so I can search on internet to find a ne link? thanks, but another question, all of the bing apps not detect the internet connection, and i dont know why and these are essential apps for my, for example the weather and sports
I'm a big fan of metro apps, but i don't think there are any ways to run metro apps on Windows prior to Windows 8,. Because i would like to see how it's like to use metro apps in 8 bit color mode
Where do I get the APPX files for the app versions used in Windows 10 from when it first released until... 2019? 2021? I forgot when it happened, but you know what I mean.
Mail, Calendar and People apps work. But I can't install some apps such as Xbox Games, because it says that the package is end of life and could no longer be installed. Same goes with Help+Tips app (0x80073cfd). I searched that online but I couldn't find anything useful. Please help, this is bad. :(
Sadly some packages won’t install. Packages are digitally signed and the signature is required for AppInstaller to properly register the app. The thing is, digital signatures eventually expire and you won’t be able to install the apps anymore.
That’s a low resolution that will degrade the quality of the videos by a significant amount, cause weird aspect ratio problems, and also limit screen space. 1366x768 is not an optimal resolution for a RU-vid video.

i found a error: Merge failure for shared merged PRI file : error 0x80073B0F : Cannot register the Microsoft.WindowsCalculator_11.2210.0.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe package because there was a merge failure with the following file: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.WindowsCalculator_6.3.9600.20278_neutral_Numbers.language-vi_8wekyb3d8bbwe esources.pri (0x80073b0f) can someone fix that
