@@todsizemore4059 . I'm screwing 3/4" shop ply to the wall. (mostly because I have to attach glass shelves through the stone and need a good anchor). The sheet LED lighting (18x24) will get adhered to the plywood...3M peel and stick backers. I'm sure it can be done on smooth coat drywall. Textured drywall probably not a good idea for the double sided tape to stick well. The stone will be attached directly to the sheet LED with clear silicon. I am making a 6" border frame from solid wood that is 6/4 or about 1-1/4" thick that the stone will be set into and provide lateral load for the stone to rest on. My electrician is providing the LED sheets. Three 18x24 sheets use one power supply and I have 4 rows. Four power supplies. They will be in the cabinet below. I think the slab will be about 80" wide x 70" tall. I should make a vid when it comes to the install. But apparently, the slabs are just glued to the led sheets with silicon.
@@getsomemtb7427 so I opened up the drywall & doing plywood backing as well about 1” back of the front of the studs. My led are going to sit right on the plywood but then I’m adding a 1/2” of lexan to stand the stone out a bit so the light can come in more full, the lexan will countersink screw to the studs & then I’m using lexal to attach the stone to that. Hope yours works out for you!
@@todsizemore4059, nice plan. I'm leaning toward using Loctite Power Grab. I've had good experiences with it and the Gorilla polymer adhesives. Best of luck to you!
Hi - where do I buy these flexible panel for cheap… I know they are expensive! I am in Southern California. Also I am trying to put the led strip light in my library we are building. I want color changing led strip, what would you suggest to use to avoid the voltage drop as I have to run a 150 feet led strip through the different rows and coloumn. Thanks a lot 🙏🏻
Awesome video! Doing a similar project. Any recommendations on the spacers that you used? (and also how thick were they, providing space between LED and stone)?? Thanks!
I think that he used the rubber like hosing (similar used to beer tap lining hose) and spaced around 3/4-1". I am going with 1" as I do not want the diodes to shine through ours! @@sherisiegel9191
