We had built a DIY 10kW Solar System on our homestead in Mongolia just before the winter but we didn't have time to install the grounding system because the ground froze for the winter. It has been our dream to live off-grid which is all part of our road to become self sufficient and self sustainable here in Mongolia. This week we install our DIY grounding system and share the easy tips and tricks DIY way to install a grounding system for your solar mount.
This is all part of the adventure and joinery to an off-grid homestead in the land of the blue sky.

Hi guys. I recommend that you put a similar grounding system in for your deck at the house. I'm more concerned for your family safety regarding the deck not being grounded than the loss of some solar panels! And definitely stay off the stairs and deck during electrical storms even if it is grounded! Cheers! Allen

I was very nervous the first time you built that metal construction for those solar panels. This is one less thing to worry about. I wonder if it was your summer greenhouse getting blown away that made you take care of this, because that must have made you realize how nature is very unpredictable.

Self-sustainable solar energy is a proven way to power a home without relying on the electricity grid and fossil fuels and protecting that system from Mongolias many lightning strikes during the spring and the summer is mission critical.Out of all your projects this one will pay dividends as long as you can keep adding battery storage here and there.

@@SimpleWildLiving I can not believe that the Mongolian government did such a poor job in implementing all of their infrastructure from energy to water and sewer you and Zula and Flame did the right thing by not buying an apartment or a house in UB. Every time i look the city is under water.
