How did you handle surface water drainage? Obviously the MOT was compacted so seepage through would be slow?

Where does the water go once its inside the creates? Is the material water proof that is wrapped around the creates does it soak out the bottom?

The fabric deteriorates over time and all the sand rolls in.. WORST TYPE OF SOAKWELL EVER!

Good job. Have you considered lining the hole instead of lining the crates and using 2"-3" rock instead of pea gravel and then wrapping the whole thing up so as to keep the rock clean and in place? That's the technique I use at my farm here in Tennessee. I can't find crates like that here so I use plastic 55 gallon drums and drill 1" holes all around them and on the bottom.
