Such a great and useful guide, I was able to install remix os on an old dell inspiron duo 1090 and it works great for school. I was also having trouble installing other android x86 and i believe it had to do with grub, I tried the manual grub method used here with a few tweaks in the text file where I replaced "RemixOS" with the folder name of the android version, and it worked perfectly.

It took 2 tries. First with the 64 bit remixos that got stuck on the pulsing start screen. The second try with remixos 32 bit was successful. Internal storage showed full capacity without additional configuration. Thanks for a great articulate video.

Great video TechRodent, thank you for your work and help. I tried your guide in a ESXi 5.5 virtual machine and it worked fine. Please replace the third line of the "Code for grub.cfg" on the description, from set root={hd0,2} to set root=(hd0,2) . You got the brackets right on the video though. Stay well.

Great video, watched it like 30 times for reference. BTW for 64bit just add "_64" to the end of "androidboot.hardware=remix_x86" so it should look like "androidboot.hardware=remix_x86_64"

This is an amazing video and it has helped not only install remix os flawlessly but also gave me an insight of to install Pheonix OS. After much Trials and Erros i have also found a much.. say less codded method for the install. 1. Install Ubuntu > in my case i had budgie on hand and used that to install Parition Scheme : 250mb for bios 4gb for Swap 250gb for Linux parition 2. Reboot with PhenixOS/RemixOS 3. Hit Tab on the menu to edit and remove DEBUG= 4. Proceed with the installation as per usual only this time over writting the Ubuntu Parition 5. Instead of skipping the grub install.. choose the 250mb boot partition 6. Reboot Enjoy As a side Note: i have done multiple reboots to make sure this system works System Specs: amd a6 processor 12gb Ram 1tb Hard drive Mostly other onboard hardware are common except the processor has a hd radeon intergrated graphics card built into it. However, this has not been a hinderence to me. I hope i have provided some insight and would love if you could try this out and make another tutorial :)

For those using EFI BIOS enter the EF02 code, then you should also choose the install bios option. It will automatically install the OS and provide complete storage.
