hey could you help me on installing it on win11? whenever i use the command bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON I get an error stating that i can't change the value in question because of safeboot..
@@stevenempolyed9937 You booted Win11 into safe mode? If so, there are instructions on how to get out of it: www.ccleaner.com/knowledge/how-to-start-windows-11-in-safe-mode Or is it a hint that you did not run the command prompt as Administrator? I am running Linux, and thus can not install SH-201 drivers on Win11 anymore. I am happy that SH-201 worked without installing something on Linux :) Even the SH-201 Windows tools work on Linux under Wine.
First of all many thanks for this!!! I did not expect to find a solution for my Win10. This is amazing skill and also you took the time to make a dummy proof video too! No some questions to anyone who could answer. -Is is possible to use the editor librarian provided by Roland? Does not seem to be able to be installed in Win 10 even with compatibility settings -How about the VST in a DAW? (Maybe that is going too far already, that did not work very well even in the past for many ...) -and lastly: I am using a MOTU Audio interface with ASIO drivers and Ableton Live. It does not seem possible from Abletons Live AUDIO setting to be able to use both simultaneously (i.e. MOTU 2408 and SH-201). It is either or. Do you thing I could possibly use both of them as inputs in Live? so I dont have to waste some channels from the audio interface to record the SH-201 audio but rather use it in parallel ? Has anybody none that already in any other DAW? Or is it a Live limitation? For midi there seems not to be such an issue, I can have many different MIDI interfaces in parallel together with SH201. I get the following message in command prompt when inputting the second line. Anyone have any ideas where i'm going wrong? C:\Windows\system32>bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON An error has occurred setting the element data. The value is protected by Secure Boot policy and cannot be modified or deleted.
@@gilm677 Correct! Disable Security Boot in BIOS. This was not an issue on my stationary computer, but on my laptop. A bit awkward since BitLock has to be disabled as well. Anyone having the mindset to learn a DAW will not have a problem with this step.
Excellent video and I also love Mixcraft! One question: if the user's PC does not have an AMD processor, should they paste the iNF lines elsewhere in the file (under the [Roland] header, perhaps])?
Do you know how to get the pre-packed software to work to? I'm trying to get different sounds programed on this but can't find any sort of stand-alone download for it.
The SH-201 Librarian sofware is use for the purpose of saving and reloading patches to your computor. Once the drivers are installed, the librarian and editor software works as usual in Win10.
Well done. The synth might get dusted down. Since win10 I had written it off. Does this mean the 64bit vst editor will work too? You are a bright spark.
I can't get it to wrok on windows 11. when I try to use the command bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON it tells me:It just says "O valor está protegido por uma política de Arranque Seguro, pelo que não é possível modificá-lo ou eliminá-lo." which translates to "the value is protected by a policy of safe boot, so it's impossible to change it"... anyone knows how to fix this

I have same problem... 🙂...uffff :-) in BIOS you must disable security boot = f10 / security / sec boot conf / sec boot = dis + "i think" clear sec boot keys = clear (this after my restart was dont clear again???) I am not IT specialist = test it :-)

I have Roland SH-201 librarian and editor cannot connect to the USB player. . I try downloads usb driver Win 7. 32 or 64 Roland website. Not work. The operating system you are using is not supported. Please check the supported operating system. Hopeless........
