Where would you go?? Like just find a random print you like and screen shot it then send it to a company that has a big printer that can print it out to about the size you want!? Then like stencil it on there?
Damn, the idea of making the stars more dense in the center and fading as they move outward made a big difference. That's the nicest star headliner I've seen just because you executed that idea.
I did this to my Honda Civic and it transformed the car at night time! Definitely worth it. But I would invest in a better light system because mine only lasted 5 months
Donovan Patron and dam do they customize it like that? So like each month you were born is like a different area of the stars and they try and map out that lay out of the sky at night?? Is that what your saying?? If so that’s amazing..
This isnt a "new" mod search it on youtube, there's dozens of people that have put in this work. That being said it is a job I'd much rather pay for someone to do since it's so time consuming lol
@@diiviinemedia Mine is the same way, it looks as if the tan that is behind it, is just a background. But its completely up to you as it is your car. Looks great though and cant wait to see it finished.
My wife and I bought an Odyssey not to long ago. The family hauler is gonna be a little bit cooler now. Sick stuff Mike. Definitely gonna be using that link soon.
5:10 I have that controller for led under my dash. Flimsy and broke. There's a app that works with my phone.called led rgb remote.works if phone has built in iR blaster. 👍 If ur phone doesn't have iR. Can buy small iR adaptor cheap that plugs in headphone jack. $3

tip for stopping the fibres becoming such a mess when installing the fibre optics to the roof lining, cable tie them together and pull them out 1 by 1 so you dont get and spare ones laying around.
I’m watching this because this is my favorite build on RU-vid at the moment. Love how far this car has come and the direction you’ve taken it. Keep killin it!
Suspend the fiber above your work area vertically. Tied to a string or masking tape. Spread out the fiber ends and install! No knots, no fibers all over the place, just neat clean and time consuming fun 🔥
Just my opinion but.....you should have only poked the fiber optics through maybe 3 or so inches to leave the extra slack for the box to reach the trunk or at least to mount it under the rear dash. Looks insane and great work man!!
I work for a company that makes acoustic sound panels. We do the same thing. 4x8 ft fiberglass insolation with black fabric wrapped. Then mark up a design on the back and start poking. Lots of time but its deff worth it once its done.
I ordered all the items needed to do this. I’m very excited to give it a shot, if not I know a mechanic who’ll help me. Here goes to working on this for a day!
Great work man! keep up the good work! Got a couple of questions : - I saw you had some issue's with the battery voltage. Did you after the video use A voltage converter from 12 to 230 where the generator is running on? - Did you glued all the 200 threads with the glue gun, and how much did you use so the threads don't coming loose?
AUSTIN yeah you’re right, I wasted money on this kit and it wasn’t long enough like you said! I ended up selling it to a buddy of mine and he put it in his Camaro SS
Yea, so let everybody how it goes splicing all the strands to “run them to the trunk”. I work with communication grade fiber optics and even with the old om1 plastic led optimized which is likely what that stuff is, splicing is not the easiest thing in the world to do. Now if you have a fusion splicer than your in business but one of those will ser you back around 30 grand. I did a table in some of the new om5 50 micron glass and actually polished all of the ends and properly cleaved the strands instead of cut and its crazy. When you polish and cleave them the lazer optimized really stands out like no other. I had to diffuse the transceiver in order to get it to not blind you. It still is powerful enough to act like 1000 little flashlights. And where i coupled the strands to a multimode ribbon you can control each of the lights with a pc if you matrix it all out. Write your name or draw a big frowny face. Is cool. I programmed the table to light like placemats.
i'm not going to try and splice them, my only goal is to get the light to travel through the first set of strands, shine onto the 2nd and pass the remaining light to the headliner. If it doesn't work then oh well, i'm out $40 bucks and I buy a smaller module. Not trying to match the industry standard here lol, just pass some light through some strands.
I’m planning on doing this with my truck. It’s a custom made one so it has switches on the top since it has custom installed lights. Man, this is going to be a breeze! Thank you for the upload! :)
Yes I recommend better light gen. Did not take the headliner outside the car. Used heavy kitchen scissors faster cutting the light fibres. Mine has black liner. Was about ten hours total with wife helping. Was her new Toyota Looks great. Handcraft is Soulcraft. Thanks
Always wanted to do that. Looks sick man. Seems doable at that price. Headliner is falling out so I guess this is my new project. Thanks for the awesome video. Always helps to see what someone else does.
Tie a rubber band or zip tie them together near the ends and pull the lines out on by one as you need them and tighten the rubber band or zip tie depending on what you use to keep them from jumbling up into a crazy knot, Im doing this two weeks from now on my silverado standard cab
I like these kind of videos. I dont care how long they are as long as they are informational and keeps my attention, because some get long winded and boring. But this is a very good video and I love the starlit headliner!
syringe needle my friend, poke from the bottom, put the strand in the hollow needle opening, push in for a foot, pull needle out, knot the optic end of the strand and repeat.
I have a 3M9 SC300 and because of how good this looks, i think im gonna do this as my start to a black interior! Looks super good man! Keep up the great work!
As a newcomer who has never seen any of your videos, I have a few first impressions to tell: The things you do honestly look awesome, I mean just this one for example - sick result and all, but the video could have been a lot shorter, 10 minutes at max. It got boring very fast, so I just skipped through 3/4 of the it. I understand I am only an individual and long-term fans probably care about that "filler" more, but this editing style has discouraged me enough to lose interest in the channel. Hope these insights were helpful, please take them with a grain of salt, thank you
I kinda wish he went into more depth about the complications he talked about, it helps people thinking about attempting the project to decide if it’s worth all the work. The video could have been edited to be more concise as well as including a bit of that extra information
For some of the tools who are saying about glow in the dark items instead. These fibre optic lights actually serve a purpose regarding sensory and for my disabled child is perfect to help her when we are in the car.
Casually revisiting this video 3 cars and 2 blacked out headliners later finally deciding to do this on my legacy gt cause black suede wasn't enough (switching to velvet)
Dude this was so sick! Thanks for taking us through it. Your Soarer is sooo nice! That bokeh porn at 15:48 was awesome too. What camera/lens do you use?
Am kinda glad this video popped up in my recommendations cos I love rolls Royce and especially the star dust ceiling in their cars... I’m prob gonna do this to my 2014 BMW m6 🤔🤔
Excellent video, however, there is actually a 12v version of this forsale and the battery/light pack is smaller than a 500ml bottle that would of saved you the hassle of hiding the big chunky version you have
It’s just tedious, not difficult. A headliner is not even a necessity for your vehicle! If it takes you a month to do this, it wouldn’t even matter! 🤷🏿♂️ Be a goal-accomplisher, not a self-discourager! 👍🏿
This would be so cool to do but I have an SUV and I think there wouldn't be enough fiber cable length and number of cables. It would take so long.... But it might be easier to wire it up and also hide the wires because of how much space there is. This looks absolutely amazing tho. Congrats on that awesome result!
The set up he had didn't look too bad... he would have to place it diagonally to reach across the whole headliner... he should of put the minimum amount of fiber thru the headliner and pulled the slack back towards the box.
what really helped for me was that is first made 290 holes ( i have a kit with 300 strans) then start pulling the fiber optic on the side you want you’re light box start close from you and pull the fiber optic all the way so that the fiber optic is tight then move outwards so you wont have other strans in you’re way while you poke them trough. if you have all 290 holes filled with cable count how many holes you have to poke extra ( my 300 piece came with 298 strans ) then glue m all
