I’d gusset the bottom of them chassis stands 👍

Thanks mate, yep definitely a good idea they are a little flimsy, should have cut the base plate bigger and thicker in hindsight. I'll get round to gusseting them for sure!

if the shocks had normal rubber style boots you clip a triangle out of the lowest rib with sidecutters which gives you a diamond shaped hole to let the crap out, i usually do two larger ones bottom (10-20mm) and two smaller (5mm) ones at the top of the boot so it isn't sucking crap into the boot as the shock extends like a yabby pump. i think you need them as the shafts get sand blasted especially the rears on toyotas sometimes wearing right through the standard shock bodies. i've done the boot mod on every shock boot i've ever fitted without issues with them holding crap certainly a lot less crap to deal with than no protection at all

ARB! Anti Roll Bar! Got ya. Took me a sec to get into engineer mode. Thought for a sec, ARB don’t make suspension bits do they

Hey, your more than welcome to have a look. Also if I can give you any advice with all your OEM hardware is buy a small sandblasting cabinet and sand blast them and then use caswell to plate them in black oxide. Very simple to use and very effective, I've used this method on several car builds with great success. Cheers.

The best tools for keeping track of where parts fit to are a camera, steel rule and a laptop/tablet. Take a pic of the part in place and then keep a catalogue by pic number. Catalogue can contain info such as bolt diameter and length.

Blackhawk, never heard of them and I agree on lees unsprung weight. BUT I have hardly ever seen such a basic website from a "manufacturer"/ seller whatever you want to call it! I tried to find suspension for patrol and failed just to use the product part of the website. I do not want to troll but I really to not trust a company that has a worse website than myself.

Cheers Erik, we have some Dramas, there might be a "Richard does structural engineering" episode in the future :P. I will be able to deflate the air to get it in and out but ultimately the garage is its permanent home.

Hi David, I have the CIG weldskill 250A MIG and I have the Unimig Razor 200A AC/DC TIG with a foot control. Very happy with both machines, would recommend and buy again.

Looking good mate. Would love to see a custom link setup done right. Its pretty involved in understanding the compromises to make but there is some good info out yhere. Google '3 link front 4 link rear' on the patrol4x4 forum And 'chopsaw-notching-tube-strength-link-construction-tech-article' on pirate4x4. There is days of headaches there if you want the challege

@@DesignedandBuilt Rotating the knuckles is not really an 80 thing. Castor plates, drop boxes or arms with built in correction are the go to for 80's. With those arms and the fatter 4140 tie rod, you'll only get a couple of degrees, before the tie rod contacts the arms. Castor plates, reuse the rear hole, so the tie rod drop is half what a knuckle rotation is. See how it drives, unlike Patrols, 80's often drive fine with only a degree or so positive castor. Also, have the total toe, set at negative 1mm, it removes a lot of the twitchy feel and slows down the outside left front wear problem. If you're going to go hard and get air, weld on some braces, from the arm mounts, to as far out as you can, on the underside of the axle tube and CV balls, so far, that's the only place I've seen them bend. Also, thanks for the great videos.
