We finally get around to changing out the tail lights on my 2012 ram 3500 from Recon to Alpha Rex and all I can say is WOW!!!! It was a much needed and required change! Drop a comment below and let me know what you think!
Make it the end and watch for a fiery outro that had me a little off the deep end OOOPS

I've dealt with a lot of Spyder and Recon lights at the shops I've worked at and have been less than impressed with the quality of both (especially Spyder) but recently I've installed a few sets of Alpha Rex lights, both headlights and tails, and since I'd never heard of them before at the time I honestly thought they were some one off custom lights, built to order from some boutique shop or something lol. Just wish they made them for my truck.

i always thought AlphaRex was custom too! I was between these and the morimotto and these looked more streamlined to the look im after! Also yah my recon's legit could be fixed i'd hope theyd spend a bit of extra to glue there resistors down.... BUT alas they didnt ill probably do a video fixing them up and than give/sell them

The main problem is the stock connectors it's well known issue that they over heat and melt

My issue is the quality of the old tail lights lol.... they shook themselves apart.... all the resistors were laying in the bottom electronics box....

@@RunningJoe i seen where you took it apart..... but i was saying the stock connectors is a well known issue of over heating and melting .... look-up motor city on RU-vid he is a licensed chrysler mechanic he has a video on that issue i stated about and it's possible the main reason those failed in the first place cause those connectors over heating and cause the tail light to over heat and fail and to melt the support on the plastic housing OR you had a exposed wire touching metal somewhere that caused the resistors to burn

ill have a look, I was shocked when I saw they run essentially 2 connectors for the tailights, its like they designed them run on a different style and than went to an adapter, adds alot of electrical resistance potential which would create a fair amount of heat

@@RunningJoe let us know what you find out ....... I'm still doing research on Alpharex headlights, tail lights wished they had fog lights for 09 -18 ram 1500

Those might be knock offs but they are certainly not recon they look distinctly different recon OLED case is red, much bigger and encompasses a lot more area those were cheap knock offs of course they didn’t work, but glad you got the new alpha rex those are bad ass.

Idk what the last part was about lol but the lights do look good I was teetering between the 2 brands now that I see the quality I’m going with alpha Rex
