Nicely done. It’s refreshing to watch someone work on something for the first time like many of the rest of us hope to be doing soon. Thanks for posting.
Great tutorial and setup, thanks Question what did you do with the two other wires that comes together with the Garmin, because it looks like you only use the red and black, did you cover than from water or what did you do. Thanks again
Nice, i like the idea of the side arm since you dont have to drill any holes into the kayak, that's the main reason i havent installed one on mine. i also have a 106 pdl, i cant wait to see it on the the water to see your pros and cons.
That was my main concern I didnt want to put any hole In the yak. it works perfect! video coming soon on the water! its my first fish finder so I had to dial it in and learn somethings.
If anyone happens to have a link to the mount that hooks it up to the Scotty please comment it, I can not for the life of me find it anywhere and would love to buy one so I can hook it up to the yak
sorry for the late reply I finally found it! lol www.amazon.com/Scotty-368-Universal-Sounder-Mount/dp/B00FPQZ95K/ref=sr_1_2?crid=4SXCFCE4VMFD&keywords=garmin+striker+4+universal+mount+scotty&qid=1681395020&sprefix=garmin+striker+4+universal+mount+scotty%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-2
Hi Kali, what size screw and bolt did you use for the transducer mount to the Scotty Arm? I have the same setup and it didn't include the screw with the Garmin.
Hey new subscriber thanks for the video. I had already started installing mine before I watched your video but I got stumped when I went to put the transducer on the bottom of the Scotty mount. When I get home from work today I'll try it the way you did.
Just got the Nocqua battery as well with a Garmin Striker 5cv but for the life of me cant figure out what wires go to what for power. My battery has a 2 pin connector but all the cables on the fish finder are smaller 4 pin ?
Great Presentation!!! Just what this old man (78) needed to see before I buy the Scotty parts and how to install it all. Also I'll be using mine on a Scadden Predator X pro inflatable frameless boat instead of a hard kayak hull. Instead of a rail, I'll be gluing on a Scotty mounting patch. I'll be able to carry the boat for a mile into my off grid lakes.
preciate this ur the only vid or post I seen about mounting transducer and setting this all up out the box with the same Garmin as me, all the amazon reviews are just guys who cant use some imagination and scream its junk bc the loose fits and half couldn't figure out how to mount the transducer they all said hardware was missing or something idek but thanks bro
Man I don’t know if you remember me, but we started at Apple together back in the day. I’m setting up my fish finder and stumbled upon your video! Hope you’re doing well dude. Tight lines!
Tony! lets go! glad to hear from you man and im excited youre into fishing as well. hopefully the video helped a bit lol I think I have you on FB! ill reach out.. tight lines bro!
Man I know you posted this a while ago but you just saved me so much aggravation. I have never used one of these before and was already so irritated trying to figure out the missing battery and mount situation
Awesome video. This has helped me out considerably, thanks a million. Just one question, after you connected the two wires from the battery to the depth finder, what did you have to do with the extra wires coming off of the cord that Garmin gave you?
Nice Kayak I have the same color Kayak as you do I have the Old Town Sportsman 106 PDL glad I found this video I'm like you I don't want to have to drill holes in my Kayak.
Thank you for the video, I have the same equipment like yours. I couldn’t figured out how to mount the transducer to the Scotty arm but now I know. Hope you catch some big ones my friend! 🙏🏽🎣
Just got my Garmin and have the same transducer arm but wasn't sure how I wanted to connect the two. I thought about doing it the same way you did but wanted to see how someone else did it first. Thanks for the video. Made my life easier.
@@BlackWaterDojo I love the new color options! its way easier to see structure and fish in the water. id say buy this one its good for the price! I like the ease of the arm because I can just remove everything.
