Installing the Saber Tactical Compact TRS Rail on the FX Maverick Compact

In this video we install the Saber Tactical ST0035 TRS Compact Rail on a FX Maverick Air Rifle (a pellet shooting airgun, NOT A FIREARM).
Since not everyone has done an installation like this It's my intent to show you how easy it is. You'll need two tools, a 2.5 mm Allen to uninstall your old rail and install the new one, and a 4mm Allen to install the barrel shroud support.
While I performed this operation on my FX Maverick compact, the process will be the same for the standard version of the Maverick TRS Rail.
The Saber Tactical TRS rail has several advantages over the stock rail, including M-Lok, a 20 MOA base, with an extended pic section, a built-in level and a shroud support.
The unit not only adds enhanced functionality, but great looks.

This rail is made for a specific airgun, and will not work on any firearms.

Just curious as to why you put the clamp on the shroud upside down everything else shows to make it like a saddle to hold the barrel to the rail if you put it up from the bottom your barrel was still moving..

It can go on either way. I’m an advocate of trying it both ways and at securing it at different points along the rail to find the most accurate position. The clamp is gripping the barrel shroud so once it’s secured you’ve got support regardless of orientation. Make sure you are even when you screw it in so you don’t torque your barrel one way or the other.

I’m assuming this rail will also fit the Wildcat. Did the barrel clamp help with POI shift?

It will not fit the Wildcat. The mounting points are different. My Maverick is a compact, and I’ve always used a relatively light moderator, so I haven’t experienced much poi shift from weight out front. The clamp is more there to keep the barrel in place when I’m clumsy and bang into something. But if you had a longer barrel and a heavier and bigger moderator, then you’ll have all the support you need.
