Greetings. Excellent vids! My three ESXi 6.0 Servers/Hosts are on a datacenter using 3 public IPs each but working alone, however, I want them to be part of a cluster like Proxmox 5.x does for instance. My questions for you are: 1) If I am not wrong, VCSA/VCenter has to be installed on a Windows Server computer right? 2)If #1 is true, does the VCenter Server must be configured on the same network of the ESXi hosts? 3) If #1 is false, what do I need to integrate my 3 stand-alone ESXi 6.0 hosts to a vCenter cluster platform? Thank you in advance, Paul
Hello and thank you for your reply. What I wanna do is a scalable cluster of ESXi 6.0 (or 6.5) hosts to either balance load, share resources (like storage for instance) or configure them for fault tolerance. I know I can achieve this with vCenter but I need to know how to effectively install it and create a cluster with my current 3 ESXi servers and add up more in the future. In fact, I am considering the purchase of 2 or 3 more servers. That is why I need to know where I have to install vCenter (Into a stand alone, independent Server, into one of the hosts, etc). Right now my 3 ESXi 6.0 servers do not see the each other and are working alone, on their own.
