We installed the new KO moto Nano controller on stock Sur Ron with stock motor and 72v battery. It is amazing crushing a ASI BAC 4000. This is the perfect mode for your Sur Ron electric bike. Doesn't brake the bank and is really high quality.

@@luke9669 Hey mate, yes we changed from stock 60V to a high power EBMX 72V. The battery doesn't need to be changed but to get the full potential out of the motor/controller a battery upgrade is required. You can definitely run the 60V battery fine I just wouldn't expect anything amazing out of it.

Hi, so I am running a stock 60v Surron and was wondering if the KO Nano or EBMX X9000 would be a better option, obviously big difference in price but wondering if I go with the X9000 if I would feel any difference ?
@progressive_e
@progressive_e Год назад
Go x9000, the throttle feels so good, it runs vesc which is a way better firmware has been around for years so it's had heaps of development. We have got a video coming out on a floor comparison.

I may upgrade to a KO motor just for piece if mind. But I never run over 15kw. Would the Nano be sufficient or is there anything else good about the Rush controller?
@progressive_e
@progressive_e Год назад
If your going 15KW Nano would be where it's at for price. I've just tested the EBMX X9000 on the stock motor and can say that feels night & day between better compared to the Nano but obviously it's more expensive.
@JMGENTERPRISES
@JMGENTERPRISES Год назад
@@progressive_e Thanks for the reply. I ended up ordering the Nano yesterday. Hopefully it will suffice for my needs. I guess I can always upgrade to a better controller down the road if needed. I am curious why they make controllers capable of 35kw and motors rated for the same too. Are Sur Ron riders really using beyond 20kw on their bikes?
@progressive_e
@progressive_e Год назад
@@JMGENTERPRISES We are 23KW everyday of the week mate. We'd run more but can't really pull any more load with our sproket sizes. We would go down in sprocket size but would loose torque for off road gearing.

What could amps be set to with the pro controller, stock motor, and 72v 42ah EBMX battery?
@progressive_e
@progressive_e Год назад
EBMX battery is only designed for 15KW according to the warranty. I personally run 280Amps but I have completely upgraded wiring throughout the bike. Stock motor 220 amps max should be your limit for reference 👍

Really it give strong power ? and if using 60V 55ah does it is better to get a Ko nano or keep guenine controller ?
@progressive_e

Hey mate it's roughly 3 X the stock power. Very noticeable difference! I think if your keeping the stock motor I'd definitely consider the nano!
@djdubz
@djdubz Год назад
Awesome video! How's it doing with the stock motor? Upgrade needed? Or stock good enough?
@progressive_e
@progressive_e Год назад
All going well so far on Mark's bike! Stock motor is absolutely fine and I don't think the upgraded motor is really needed unless your pushing a fully modified bike with wide tires etc. Unless you just want it all, then get the KO motor!
@djdubz
@djdubz Год назад
@@progressive_e Thank you! I'm going to try the Factory spec KO controller with stock motor. I do run shinko 241s and lunacycle supermoto 17" wheelset where both are a tad heavier and notice the difference. That's not the modified wide tires you are referring to? Is that correct? BTW - Thank you for your time and videos. Helps us little guys a lot!
@progressive_e
@progressive_e Год назад
@@djdubz Hey mate we are all about helping the little guys out! I was referring to much larger wheels then stock like the ones on my bike in blue. I run 21/18 wheels with full moto tires which adds a tonne of weight compared to stock. For your current setup stock motor will be absolutely fine! Road riding does get the motor hotter because it's not on/off throttle so maybe later down the track a motor upgrade might be down the track. I personally would run the stock motor till it dies though! As long as you stay at no more than 12KW it'll last a very long time!
@djdubz
@djdubz Год назад
@@progressive_e Thank you for the detailed reply! You guys are awesome! Helps a lot and yes I'll upgrade the motor when it goes! Would running a 54t rear sprocket to help keep motor cooler?
@progressive_e
@progressive_e Год назад
@@djdubz Hey man if you want to look after the motor the you really need to run either a 60 or 64T when pushing higher power levels. You'll notice anyone with the stock motor and a power upgrade will usually run 64T as this takes the most load off the motor👍

I'm debating between the Nano and the Pro Series. The Nano is more affordable. The Pro seems stronger. I will be purchasing the Gladiator 60 Max - 60ah Chi Battery. I run a 19inch front with a 16inch Knobby rear. 60 Tooth sprocket. I ride 99% trails. If you say that the Nano is comparable to the Bac4000 I should just purchase the Nano. Don't need to go 90MPH just need to climb those dirt mountains. Can't afford Motor and Controller plus a battery right now. So many options to choose from. Aloha
@progressive_e
@progressive_e Год назад
Hey Mate If your keeping the stock motor Nano is all I would be looking at. If you think your probably going to upgrade the motor in a year or two I'd be looking at a higher spec controller. Need to think what will be cheaper in the long run I had the Bac4000 for ages on the Surron and loved it, also have the BAC8000 for testing too and I never thought the extra phase amps were really worth it as it was wasted on the stock motor. We are also doing some testing on the EBMX controller very soon if you looking at other options too.
@progressive_e
@progressive_e Год назад
Also if you can get into 72V I'd recommend that over the 60V as you'll make more power on less amps. This means less heat through the motor and the stock motor does get hot easily
