Welcome! In today's video, we'll be installing the oldest leaked build of Windows - 1.0 DR5 - in VMware with VGA, DOS 6.22, and a PS/2 mouse! Why? What's the point? Why not.

The music and the old windows versions gave me some nostalgia from about 3 years ago as i was very into virtual machines and forgotten/unrealesed windows versions. Gave me a lot of memories. Also a great video!

For Windows 1.0 in VirtualBox I got almost everything working except for the mouse... turns out that Windows 1.0 doesn't have any PS/2 support (Win1 = 1985, PS/2 = 1987! I made a new VM, grabbed a supported driver, installed the OS and it ran! Still it's fascinating how much Windows has changed in some aspects and in some stays relatively the same! Anyways nice video!

Thanks for the detailed comments every time haha :)) I actually have tried DR5 in VBox - many months ago however - and it worked pretty well! I must have downloaded some patched version because the mouse worked out of the box iirc… Anyways, you’ve given me a new video idea! Check my channel in the next 24 hours or so :P
