You can change the cover without taking the mirror off. Just unclip those 2 clips with small screw driver and it will come out. When the cover is off, it is easy to put some greese to that folding mecanism just to get rid any extra noises.

So we can just unclip them clips through the side of the mirror without taking it off after pushing mirror to one side
