Installs Just Got Easier: Jeep JL, JT Installation GMRS Radio Kit - GMR45 Rugged Radios 

The cable routing in this video is by far the cleanest setup I have seen.

The hole in the firewall that was conveniently placed there by Jeep is used by the clutch in a manual drive. Just so everyone knows.

I just bought one of your kits for my jlu because of this video. The kit and video is a plus.

No one ever shows the SWR reading? Its very high! Some of the readings depending on the type of antenna was up to 11.2 to 1... I had to strap a ground strap to the frame to get the SWR down to a reasonable match. Or find an antenna that does not require a ground plain? To much reflective wave back into the radio will destroy it. Just my take on the GMRS/HAM radio installs in jeeps.

With a 2 door won’t it get in the way of sliding the passenger seat forward?

Regarding the antenna mount there seems to be controversy in the Jeep community whether or not the mount should be grounded to the body or not with some stating to chip off powder coating of the mount so the mounting screw will make contact. This does seem like something that needs addressed because if it should be isolated the powder coat will have a fair chance of eventually not providing isolation between torquing the screw along with trail vibration.

Just out of curiosity, did you guys ever come out with instructions and/or kit for the manual transmission as noted by?

As others have said/asked, what about installation in a manual transmission? That convenient hole in the firewall is in use so...are we just SOL then?

Can you believe that radio mount -- a piece of bent sheet metal with a few holes -- is $95??

If you don't ground the antenna mount, it won't work worth shit.
