Using pot in pot method, cooked Rice, Dal (Lentils) and Khatte Aloo (Sour Potatoes) at once.
Instant Pot 9 in 1: amzn.to/2lI7Lf3
Recipe:
Rice: 1 cup with 2.5 cups water
Lentils: 1 cup with 2 cups water
Add salt to above according to taste
Sour Potatoes:
Turn on IP to Saute mode. Adjust heat and let it display "Hot"
1. Add 1 tbsp oil with 1 tsp ghee (clarified butter). Let it heat
2. Add hing (asofetida) to the hot oil and it should sizzle.
3. Add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds and let them crackle
4. Add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds and let them sizzle
5. Add 1-2 slit green chillies or crushed chillies according to your taste
6. Add dry red chili (optional)
7. Add diced and cubed potatoes - 3 medium to large sized or about 3 cups
8. Saute for few seconds and add salt to taste
10. Add 1/2 to 3/4 cup water
Keep the stand in the potatoes. Add your rice and dal inserts.
Turn off IP and close lid.
Set to Rice mode - default 10 mins
After its done - let is release naturally.
